The Barron Canyon - Algonquin Park
Trip to the Barron Canyon in Algonquin Park in September of 2016. The Barron Canyon is located on the East side of Algonquin Provincial Park and offers scenery that you cannot find anywhere else in the park. We manage to stop at the hiking trail that is at the top of the Barron Canyon on our drive in. We also make a pit stop at High Falls which has the famous rock water slide and some amazing waterfalls. When we arrived on High Falls Lake we realized that a forest fire had occurred here not long before and we could see the damage from it passing through. Made us feel like ants walking through a normal fire pit.
If you have not yet been to the Barron Canyon, we highly recommend planning a trip. It is one of the best places in Algonquin Park.

5 Day Canoe Trip - Barron Canyon | Algonquin Provincial Park, ON
Did a bit more footage and added music to our regular campsite video tours this time.
This is the longest trip we have done and it went very well due to our preparation and experience. It can easily be done by intermediate paddlers/campers or beginners if they have at least one person who is very experienced. Paddling distances aren't too bad but some of the portages are quite difficult due to the terrain. The trip could easily be shortened or made longer by a day or two with only slight adjustments though to suit your preferences.
The maps are from Jeff's Map:
I highly recommend buying these maps but it is available online for free as well. I bought all 4 of the Algonquin maps and the Killarney one came as part of a deal, and they are great. Extremely detailed and they are waterproof, float, and are durable.

Baron Canyon - Algonquin Park | FALL ADVENTURE 4K
Welcome to the Baron Canyon!
This was a special trip in honor of our German relatives who came down to visit with us.
I'm glad we were able to show you Algonquin Park and all its glory.
We were fortunate enough that the weather held out just long enough until the end of our trip.
The Baron Canyon is one the most beautiful sights to see in the Park.
If its witnessing the view from the top, or canoeing down the river, you're in for a treat either way.
I'm very thankful that we were able to run this on our last trip in the park.
Even though I only got to spend a weekend with you guys, it was by far one of the best weekends of my life.
-Alex
