बरवासागर एक ऐतिहासिक स्थान है। जो झांसी ज़िला, उत्तर प्रदेश से 12 मील दक्षिण-पूर्व की ओर मानिकपुर रेलपथ पर स्थित है। यहाँ एक प्राचीन सरोवर के तट पर तथा उसके आसपास चंदेल राजाओं के समय की अनेक सुन्दर इमारतें हैं।
बरवासागर में ओड़छा के राजा उदित सिंह का बनवाया एक दुर्ग भी सरोवर के निकट है। चंदेलनरेशों द्वारा निर्मित एक बहुत ही कलापूर्ण मन्दिर या जरायका मठ भी यहाँ का सुन्दर स्मारक है। मन्दिर की बाह्य भित्तियों पर अनेक प्रकार की मूर्तिकारी तथा अलंकरण प्रदर्शित हैं। वास्तव में चंदेल राजपूतों के काल का यह मंदिर वास्तुकला की दृष्टि से बहुत ही उच्चकोटि का है। मंदिर के अतिरिक्त घुघुजा मठ तथा कई मन्दिरों के अवशेष भी चदेलकालीन वास्तुकला के परिचायक हैं।

Barua Sagar Tal is a large lake situated in Barua Sagar near Jhansi in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
History
It is a large lake created about 260 years ago by Raja Udit Singh of Orchha, who built the embankment.
The beautiful temple Jarai-ka-Math, and the historic forts of Bundelkhand are nearby attractions.

This place is 21 km from Jhansi, on the route to Khajuraho. Barua Sagar is a historic spot where the battle between the Peshwa’s troops and the Bundelas was fought in 1744. This is also the place where Joti Bhau, the elder brother of Maharaja Madhuji Scindia was killed. This place is named after the Baruasagar Tal, a large lake formed about 260 years ago, when an embankment was erected by Raja Udit Singh of Orchha. The embarkment structure is a unique example of architecture and engineering. A fine, old fort built by him, which is beautifully situated on an eminence, commands an excellent view of the lake and the surrounding landscape. In the north-east side of the lake are ruins of two old Chandela Temples built in granite, the older one is known as Ghughua Math.
