The Basarab Overpass (Romanian: Pasajul Basarab) is a road overpass in Bucharest, Romania, connecting Nicolae Titulescu blvd. and Grozǎveşti Road, part of Bucharest's inner city ring. The construction was undertaken by FCC and Astaldi.
On 17 June 2011, the overpass was officially inaugurated, and was opened to traffic on 19 June. The project was completed in August 2011, when ramps and elevators for the tram stations were installed.
The bridge now accommodates the number 1 tram line, the only circular tram line in Bucharest that follows the inner traffic circle of the city.
The Basarab Overpass has a length of 1,9 km and is the widest cable stayed bridge in Europe, measuring a width of 44.5 metres (tram station, safety areas and two lanes for traffic in each direction) over the railways near the Gara de Nord train station (the average width measures almost 25 metres). The two towers that sustain the 60 cables of the bridge have a height of about 84 metres.
The overpass that has been opened in June 2011 cost almost 255 million euros, even if initially the cost was estimated at around 60 million euros. Everyday, almost 50 000 vehicles transit the bridge.

Pasajul Suprateran Basarab este un pasaj rutier din București, România, care unește sectoarele 1 și 6 între Șoseaua Nicolae Titulescu și Șoseaua Grozăvești. A fost construit cu scopul de a fluidiza traficul în zona de Nord-Vest a capitalei și de a completa inelul interior de circulație al Municipiului București.
Pasajul beneficiază de două benzi de circulație pe sens și două linii de tramvai. În zona de Nord construcția se compune dintr-un pod hobanat cu o înălțime a pilonilor de 84 de metri. Acesta supratraversează Calea Griviței, calea ferată și intersecța dintre Bulevardul Dinicu Golescu și Șoseaua Orhideelor.

Regia Autonomă de Transport Bucureşti (RATB) is a public transport operator in Bucharest, Romania. RATB operates a complex network of buses, trams and trolleybuses – in fact, RATB operates all public transport except the Bucharest Metro, which is managed by Metrorex. While owned entirely by the City Council, RATB is an autonomous company.
The RATB public transport services use a partially separate ticketing system to the Bucharest Metro. Combined passes, as well as single, timed, combined tickets are no longer available since 2 May 2014. There are plans for the two transport systems to be merged at some point in the future.

Pasajul Basarab este un pasaj rutier din București, care leagă Blvd. Nicolae Titulescu și Grozǎvești, o parte din inelul interior orașului București. Construcția a fost realizată de către FCC și Astaldi.
El are o lungime de 1,9 km și este cel mai larg pod cablu în Europa, măsurând o lățime de 44,5 metri (stație de tramvai, zone de siguranță și două benzi de circulație în fiecare direcție) peste calea ferata în apropiere de stația de tren gara de Nord (măsurand o lățime medie de aproape 25 de metri).
Cele două turnuri care susțin cele 60 de cabluri ale podului au o înălțime de aproximativ 84 metri.

Delivered in 1973-1975, Tatra T4R trams are still running on a few routes in Bucharest, although several lots have been put off operation in the past years. Thus, there are still 79 of the 130 wagons delivered of which 60 wagons in exploitation, either double or single. Several wagons are currently put off operation so that a new lot could be discharged.
However, in the lack of new rolling stock and because of the slow rhythm of putting in operation the new Bucur LF trams manufactured by URAC-RATB (5 units per year), it is necessary to continue major repairs to keep the Tatra trams in operations for at least 3 years. At present, the RATB plants are carrying out major repairs to 6 units, repairs consisting in total repainting, the replacement of the worn electric installations and cleaning of the interiors, without further improving or upgrading the traction elements.
The Tatra T4 trams were manufactured by Czech company CKD from 1967 to 1987 and were designed and built after the license of the American tram PCC. 3,509 units were manufactured and most of them were sold in Dresden, Leipzig, Halle, Magdeburg and Zagreb. 17 cities ordered Tatra T4 trams, 5 of which from Romania, where a total 320 wagons were delivered.

Podul pe cabluri care traversează liniile de tren din zona Basarab are 44 de metri lăţime. Este cel mai lat din interiorul unui oraş european.
Viaductul principal al pasajului are o lungime totala de 1450 de metri - din care 117 metri Podul pe Arce peste raul Dambovita, respectiv 340 de metri. Podul Hobanat peste zona Garii de Nord -, cu bretele de acces la pasaj de 1126 metri lungime si rampe de acces de 1250 m .
Pe pasaj, in zona Podului Hobanat va fi realizata statia de tramvai dotata cu scari fixe, lifturi si escalatoare menite sa asigure legatura intre nivelul peroanelor statiei si nivelul solului, precum si cu statia de metrou Basarab.
