Jurandvor, Krk Island
Jurandvor is a village in Croatian island Krk, placet on the end of island, before Baška and after Draga Baščanska on D102 highway.
Jurandvor was founded in the 16th century and consists of the settlements of Čubranići and Juranići
Jurandvor is known as the place where the Bašćanska Tablet was found. It was found in 1851 in the church of St. Lucia.
In the center of the settlement, in the old core of Juranic, is Jurin Dvor, after which the settlement was named.
Near Jurandvor in the Goričica area is one of the oldest pilgrimage shrines in Croatia and the largest in Krk, the shrine of Majke Božje Goričke.

Baška, island of krk
It is situated on the south of the island, 43 km from the bridge of Krk. by The town is interesting for its mediterranean architeture and long graveled beach (2 km), certenly one of the most beautiful on the world. Draga Bascanska is the small town very near to the town of Baska (4 km), locality crossed with the 45th parallel. Batomalj is in the valley of Baska. The church on the hill is the important Sanctuary. Jurandvor, is situated on a fertile country of the Baska and is famous for its' important croatian glagolic monument, called Bascanska ploca (around1100) conserved in the romanic church of St.Lucia, monument highly significant for the language, literature and history of croatian people.

Krk is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, located near Rijeka in the Bay of Kvarner and part of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

Krk has historically been a center of Croatian culture. Various literature in Glagolitic alphabet was created and in part preserved on Krk (notably the Baška tablet, one of the oldest preserved texts in Croatian). A monastery lies on the small island of Košljun in a bay off the coast of Krk.
Krk belonged to the Republic of Venice during much of the Middle Ages until its dissolution, when its destinies followed those of Dalmatia. It became part of the kingdom SHS, later Yugoslavia, after World War I, in 1920. After that date, the village of Veglia/Krk remained the only predominantly Italian-speaking municipality in Yugoslavia. After WWII, most of the Italians left.

The church of St. Lucy was built on the remains of an early Christian church at the turn of the 13th century. It is the most significant church, not only in the area and on the island, but in Croatia, as the famous and invaluable Baška Tablet from the year 1100 was found there.
The Baška Tablet is a national monument, significant for the Croatian nation. It is a Glagolitic inscription, a document consisting of 13 lines carved in stone. The text documents a donation from the Croatian king Zvonimir (1075-1089) to the church of St.Lucy in Jurandvor, where the Baška Tablet was found inserted in the church floor. It was found by Petar Dorčić, the local priest, in 1851.

Crkva sv. Lucije sagrađena je na prijelazu iz 11. u 12. st. na ostacima ranokršćanske crkve. Najznamenitija crkva ovog područja, kao i cijeloga otoka Krka i Hrvatske, jer je u njoj pronađena čuvena i vrijedna Bašćanska ploča iz 1.100. godine. Danas se u crkvi nalazi i kopija Bašćanske ploče.
Bašćanska ploča nacionalni je spomenik kulture hrvatskog naroda. Predstavlja glagoljski natpis, ispravu isklesanu u 13 redaka teksta koji govori o darovnici hrvatskog kralja Zvonimira (1075-1089) crkvi Sv. Lucije u Jurandvoru, gdje je i Bašćanska ploča i pronađena umetnuta u crkveni pločnik.
Ploča je pronađena 1851. godine, zahvaljujući bašćanskom kleriku Petru Dorčiću.

Whoever took a bike ride over an island countryside, probably came to the same conclusion as we did. To name a vehicle we all love so much, maybe an Island Bike would be a better choise of words. It’s a joke of course. But also a whole new concept to biker’s delight. And the place where this concept is actually happening is an Island of Krk. The biggest island in Adriatic is the place where this concepts is building up to become a solid trend.
Not to bagger you with standard tourist info on Krk (Baška Tablet, The Moon Plateau, famous wines like Žlahtina from Vrbnik, the lamb meat etc.), all we aim is an invitation to conclude your biking season with this very race. It starts and ends in Baška. It is the same place where popular 4 Islands MTB Stage Race starts. pSo, it provides the same breathtaking impression that maddened all its participants so far.
Krk ‘n’ Roll comes at the close of MTB season in Croatia and it takes you to one of the most popular islands in Adriatic, but does so just when all the tourist are gone and the island looks like it’s there just for you and your MTB pleasure only. Sounds exaggerated? Come and see for yourself.
