Phalaenopsis Orchids At Bason Botanical Reserve near Whanganui
Today 8/9/2018 I visited Whanganui, which is about a 2 hour drive from my home town so I stopped off at the Reserve to visit the rooms that were shut when I last visited. Part one of the video is the Phalaenopsis house, and if you don't want to see other orchids stop at 12.45
The second part of the video is the cooler growing orchids, I hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks and credit to the Whanganui District Council for providing such a pleasurable and well presented place for public viewing.
Also thanks and credit to Brandon, my son for compiling the video.
'Andrew London Trio' Aboard PS Waimarie At Whanganui Vintage Weekend 2019
The Whanganui Vintage Weekend festival in New Zealand has been running in various forms since 2001 and today is Whanganui's premiere street festival. The event is also notable for hosting vintage forms of transport such as automobiles, traction engines and steam locomotives.
In this video The Andrew London Trio is performing aboard the Whanganui riverboat PS Waimarie on a vintage jazz cruise. Included in the video are shots of the PS Waimarie and locomotive JB1236 hauling local area excursions over the same weekend.
Andrew London is a musician based on the Kapiti Coast near Wellington, New Zealand. He is primarily a songwriter and satirist and performs most often with his own Andrew London Trio.
1236 was built by North British Locomotive Works in 1939, and was given the makers number 24559 and delivered to New Zealand in March 1940. It was initially based at Dunedin. Later it was transferred to the North Island for much of its career before being withdrawn from service in 1971. It was returned to service with Mainline Steam in recent years.
PS Waimarie was built in Poplar London and entered into service between Whanganui and Pipiriki in 1900. It was withdrawn from service in 1949 before sinking at her moorings. The vessel was salvaged in 1993 and returned to service in 2000.

Matai Street Community Gardens Whanganui NZ
Phillip Holden of Matai Street Whanganui NZ has permission from the council to have a large compost area and a reasonable sized community permaculture garden on a vacant lot on Matai Street.
The garden has great potential to extend into the neighbouring section when this project works, and it is well on its way.
However this will only work if lots of people contribute and dedicate time to the cause and this has to be on a permanent long term basis.
Please share this with anyone who may be keen to donate to the give a little page, plants or time. Video credit - U-Nique Photography Music credit Michael Franti - Good To Be Alive Today

Cactus grafting in New Zealand
New Zealand style cacti grafting. This is my first video ever and hope to do many more once I understand this editing a little better. One Important thing when you have freshly grafted any cacti put it in a shaded spot until the graft forms. If you leave it in the sun the graft wont be able to get enough fluid and could dry up and die.

Bason Botanic Gardens Proposal
The Bason Botanic Gardens called out for artists/designers to submit designs for a large scultpure that will be included within the gardens.
This forms part of my proposal - an animaition showcasing my design concepts and what they might look like on completion.
The sculpture itself is to be made from a 10 meter Corten Steel obelisk form that conceals a 5 meter kaleidoscope suspended within it.
I design using Adobe Illustrator CS5 and the modeling and animations have been created using Blender3D.
