Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary near Bassi in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan, India, 5 kilometres from the Bassi Fort Palace. It covers an area of 15,290 hectares and was established in 1988. The sanctuary is located on the western border of the Vindhyachal Ranges and includes the Bassi and Orai dams are part of the sanctuary. Antelope, wild boar, panther, mongoose and migratory birds inhabit the sanctuary.

Bassi Fort Palace Hotel Chittorgarh
Hotel is located in the Bassi Sanctuary, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. About 26 Kms from Chittorgarh, on the Udaipur-Bundi-Kota National Highway. The local train station is in Bassi, 2 km away from the hotel. Closest airport is in Udaipur, about 100km away. The 16th century WelcomHeritage Bassi Fort, is set amidst the hills of the Vindhyachal ranges. The ornate gates, domes, arches and corridors of the Palace recalls the grandeur of another era when valour, honour as well as ostentation were understood precepts of royalty. The fort has been painstakingly restored, maintaining the integrity of the original structure while subtly introduces the trappings of modern comfort.
It is a heritage hotel located amid the hills, surrounded by wild life and the amazing natural features from that indian region. Hotel offers many recreational activities such as Garden, Boating, Angling, Trekking, Camping, Wildlife Sanctuary and Excursions. The WelcomHeritage Bassi Fort is a testament to the glorious history of the Chundawat clan. It was built in the 16th century by Thakur Jaimal of the Sisodia dynasty, cousin of Maharana Pratap, founder of the Bassi principality. Six of the ancestors of Rawat Sahib Kesri Singh Ji, the present head of the WelcomHeritage Bassi Chundawat family laid down their lives defending Mewar and the famous Chittogarh fort.
Hotel is an historical building built in the 16th century. The oldest heritage hotel in India. The hotel is a heritage building.
Rooms are medium to large, and equiped with typical indian furniture. Rooms have sitiing area; cold/hot running water; dressing room. 17 stately rooms and suites, equipped with all modern amenities.
There is a bar and dinning hall open to the public. The restaurant offers the traditional Rajasthani and Indian dishes and the bar at the hotel offers the finest spirits and liquors to the guests.
There is a well laid out lobby and is large in size.
100 kms to the nearest airport (dabok), 2 km to the nearest station (bassi berisal), 24 kms to city centre.

Le panoramearth est pris d'une petite place non loin du lac nord. Au début de la vidéo, on aperçoit quelques adolescents qui regardent le groupe de touristes. Puis, une écolière qui traverse le champ de la caméra. Au loin, le lac au nord du village (les trucs noirs dans l'eau sont des buffles à la baignade). Panorama sur l'environnement, les maisons, les rues adjacentes. Retour sur les jeunes du quartier. Bassi a été fondée par Maharana Pratap au 16e siècle. Le fort de Bassi, de son côté, a été aussi construit au 16e siècle par Thakur Jaimal de la dinastie Sisodia, un cousin de Maharana Pratap. Actuellement ce fort est aménagé en hôtel. A noter qu'à 5 km de Bassi, vers l'est, on trouve une réserve naturelle comportant de nombreux animaux sauvages. Chittorgarh (ou Chittaurgarh), la grande ville à 26 km au sud-ouest du village de Bassi, est localisée en bordure des rivières Gambhiri et Berach. Cette ville est caractérisée par son fort qui s'étend sur une colline à l'est. Historiquement, on considère que la ville a été construite par la dinastie Maurya, du royaume des Rajputs, au 7e siècle.

The Chittor Fort or Chittorgarh is one of the largest forts in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was the capital of Mewar and is located in the present-day town of Chittor . It sprawls over a hill 180 m (590.6 ft) in height spread over an area of 280 ha (691.9 acres) above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River. The fort precinct has several historical palaces, gates, temples and two prominent commemorative towers.

Leopard sneaks into police station compound in Chittorgarh
Udaipur : Forest officials, police and public were in a panic mode for hours when a leopard sneaked into the Kotwali police station premises in Chittorgarh on Sunday. People finally sighed relied when the big cat was tranquilized after some 10 hours long rescue operation.

Wildlife sanctuary in Khumbalgarh, Rajasthan
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan state in western India and surrounds the Kumbhalgarh fortress and covers an area of 578 km². The sanctuary extends across the Aravalli Range, covering parts of Rajsamand, Udaipur, and Pali districts, ranging from 500 to 1300 meters elevation. Kumbhalgarh is a Mewar fortress in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan state in western India. It was buit by Rana kumbha during 15th century. Kumbhalgarh is also a birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Kumbhalgarh Fort is the second most important fort of Rajasthan after Chittorgarh.
