Bat Cave is the place to watch the sunset, even though it is not the sunset you come for... While peacefully waiting for daylight to fade away, you get to observe thousands and thousands of bats emerging from the cave, on and on for about 15 to 20 minutes. It seemed like a huge cloud slowly disappearing into the night. If this spectacle was not enough, by then groups of large birds had congregated to pray on the bats, plunging into the cloud and flying away with their catch, and soon returning for another “helping”. We were only a small group that had gathered there. Some were very skeptical, finding it weird to wait for bats flying out of a cave… But we all left stunned, riding back in silent, absorbing what we had just seen and experienced!
Bats in Linno Cave Hpa-an Myanmar
At exactly 6 pm, the bats from the cave slowly appearing out from their territory. That was my first time to witness thousands of bats come out from their shelter. Personally, it was an experience that brought pure happiness to me. When these bats came out from the cave, they all flock together going in the same direction, forming their own set of an army. It was a bonus that the weather was so good that these bats went to the way where the sunset was. These bats come back the next day at 6 AM.

Hpa An City And Phan Pu Mountain - Karen State | Aerial View Drone Video | Myanmar ( Burma )
Hpa-an is the capital and largest city of Kayin State, Myanmar. The population of Hpa-an as of the 2014 census was 421,575. Most of the people in Hpa-an are of the Karen ethnic group.
Mt Hpan Pu is a craggy, pagoda-topped peak that can be scaled in one sweaty morning. To get here, hop on a boat across the Thanlwin River from the informal jetty near Shweyinhmyaw Paya. After reaching the other side, you’ll walk through a quiet village before the steep but relatively short ascent to the top. The views of the river and the surrounding rice fields and limestone cliffs (including Mt Zwegabin) are astounding.

Mahar Sadan Cave | HPA-AN MYANMAR - BURMA DRONE VIDEO
This football-stadium-sized cave is simply breathtaking, its entrance dominated by dozens of buddha statues, a couple of pagodas and some newer clay wall carvings.
You can scramble for 15 minutes through chambers as high as a cathedral, past truck-sized stalactites and, in places, walls of crystal.
Adding to the general atmosphere, thousands of bats cling to the cave roof. Their squealing is deafening in places – and watch out for bat excrement.
As you emerge at the cave’s far side the wonders only increase: the burst of sunlight reveals an idyllic secret lake full of ducks and flowering lilies hidden in a bowl of craggy peaks. There's another cave on the far side of the lake that's actually half flooded, but local fishers occasionally paddle through it for 10 minutes to yet another lake. You may be able to persuade someone to take you along.
Saddan Cave can be traversed only partially during the rainy season. Come during the dry season (around November to April) for the full experience. The cave is 17 miles from Hpa-an along the road to Eindu. To get here, take a pick-up to Eindu; from the village, take a motorbike taxi for the remaining 2 miles to the cave.
