Bataan Tourism Center Tour- It's More Fun in the Bataan
Breathtaking Bataan
This video is all about the beautiful province of Bataan.
Adventures of Gerald and Rhia honors and pays reverence and tribute to this great province, the province of Bataan. We are staying true to our love for travel as main inspirations that led to the creation our channel that aims to explore and document life's wonders.
Bataan is a province on the Philippine island of Luzon. Shipwrecks and coral reefs dot the waters of Subic Bay, off its northwest coast. Farther south, marine turtles are hatched at the Pawikan Conservation Center. A towering memorial cross and a shrine commemorating WWII’s Battle of Bataan crown Mount Samat in central Bataan. On the east coast, birdlife thrives in the Balanga City Wetland and Nature Park.
Bataan rings a chord in the heart of every Filipino. It is a symbol of democracy and freedom – a memorial to the gallant Filipino-American defenders of Bataan who fought decisive battles that delayed the timetable of the well-equipped and better trained Japanese Imperial forces, and changed the course of history in the Pacific.
Obscure and relatively unknown before World War II, Bataan was founded in 1754 by Governor General Pedro Manuel Arandia. The region was divided into two parts – The Corregimiento of Mariveles and the province of Pampanga. The towns of Mariveles, Bagac, Morong, and Maragondong, Cavite comprised the Corregimiento of Mariveles which was under the jurisdiction of the Recollect Order of the Roman Catholic Church.

USWAG Pinas! Episode # 5 Fist Agenda - Bataan Government Center and Business Hub
USWAG, Pinas! is the flagship program of Radio-Television Malacañang (RTVM) that showcases the movement of the national leadership and its agencies, the multi-faceted beauty of the Philippines, and the invaluable contributions of modern Filipino heroes for national development.
Derived from the Bisayan term ‘uswag’ which means progress, the social media program aims to inform viewers on the accomplishments of the current administration and to inspire the Filipino people to contribute voluntarily for the country’s development.
In ‘Fist Agenda’, take a look at the newly-inaugurated Bataan Government Center and Business Hub known as ‘The Bunker.’
Carrying the vision of attaining the lowest poverty incidence and top-level Human Development Index in the Philippines by 2020, the provincial government of Bataan opens ‘The Bunker,’ a public-private partnership (PPP) project that houses national and local government agencies, government financial institutions and private partners under one roof for greater convenience through its improved public service delivery. The one-stop shop reaffirms the ‘ease of doing business’ thrust of the government and carries the plan of becoming a visionary workplace to embolden civil servants to be more collaborative, responsive, engaging and creative.

A Travel Vlog: Bataan
If you're a history buff, nature lover and/or a weekend warrior, this one's for you!
Every time we hear Bataan, the infamous Death March that was already tied with it, comes to our mind. Some of the province’s tourist attractions are reminder of the not so good memories of World War II. But these landmarks depict the bravery of our fellowmen who fought for our country during the war. The province of Bataan is best known for its historical and cultural attractions. The Battle of Bataan is famous for being one of the last stands of American and Filipino soldiers before they were overwhelmed by the Japanese forces during World War II.
These are some of the sites that we have visited:
1. Pawikan Conservation Center
The Pawikan Conservation Center aims to protect marine turtles which are highly threatened by extinction due to human activities such as poaching, egg gathering, slaughter, illegal fishing and pollution. The center contains a hatchery and sanctuary for injured turtles. RATES: Entrance fee is P30 per head
2. Mount Samat National Shrine
Bataan’s major icon is the Shrine of Valor, a 92-meter high concrete cross on top of Mt. Samat in Pilar town, 555 meters above sea level. The cross is the country’s national memorial for the defenders of Bataan and site of the annual Araw ng Kagitingan Rites. Below the cross is a shrine, colonnade with an altar, esplanade and museum.
3. Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar
The first heritage resort in the country, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, a resort has around 30 heritage structures some were restored and sourced from different parts of the country while others are replicas. Go back in time and walk along Paseo Escolta, ride the first ever tram ran in Manila, and be startled by the artistic details of Hotel De Oriente.
4. Kanawan Hanging Bridge
Kanawan bridge is a small bridge that will lead you to an Aeta village. This bridge was built by Marcos. Below the bridge is the historic Batalan River which was also a war site during the WWII.
5. Loleng's Hutieu-an
This Vietnamese eatery opened during the nineties as Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian refugees started to immigrate into the United States from Bataan’s Philippine Refugee Processing Center (PRPC). Loleng, whom the restaurant was named after, was a former cook in the center, and had since learned the art of Vietnamese cuisine from the refugees seeking temporary asylum in the country during the Vietnam War. The end result is Loleng’s Hu Tieu-an.
6. BTPI, Morong, Bataan
A 380-hectare site in Sabang, Morong, Bataan was once a UN High Commission’s Refugee Processing Center. BTPI is ideal for world-class facilities for science-based and multi-use research and high technology development. A portion of the area is being geared towards research laboratory, modern agricultural training center and model farm. Historical legacy and places on interests at BTPI: Freedom Plaza, Buddhist Temples, That Luang, Refugee Boat, Blessed Virgin Mary, Khmer Monument, Vietnamese Monument, Angkor Wat Miniature
7. Stella Mariz Beach Resort Bagac Bataan
In Stella Mariz Resort Bagac Bataan there’s minimal concrete and there’s minimal rooms. Only cottages that are well spaced apart that are made from indigenous materials. But our preferred choice would be camping , best place for star gazing. Entrance fee is 100.00
8. Philippine-Japanese Friendship Tower
Many years after the strife and the savagery of the Second World War, Japan and the Philippines strove to establish friendly ties, and in 1975, the Philippine-Japanese Friendship Tower in Bagac was inaugurated as a testament to the spirit of reconciliation between the two countries. The Philippine–Japanese Friendship Tower is very significant to Philippine history because it reminds us of the friendship we have of Japan and symbolizes that the war between the two countries has indeed ended.
