Batangas City Cinematics - Cities: Skylines - Philippine Cities
Batangas City, is a 1st class component city in the province of Batangas, in the Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 329,874 people.
Batangas City is classified as one of the fastest urbanizing cities of the Philippines, and is known as the Industrial Port City of CALABARZON. It is home to the Batangas International Port, one of the busiest passenger and container terminals in the Philippines. It also hosts one of the largest oil refineries in the country, three natural gas power plants, and several other major industries. In addition, the city also serves as the educational, industrial and the transportation center of the province.
With the expansion of the Port of Batangas City, the operation of different heavy industries and the construction of Phase II of the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR Tollway) project and new diversion roads, Batangas City has seen a gradual shift from an agricultural economy to an industrial economy.
The northwest of the city hosts different commercial establishments while the lowland areas surrounding Batangas Bay hosts the heavy industries of the city. However, despite its gradual shift in becoming a major commercial/industrial hub for CALABARZON, it still shares rural landscapes that is still preserved in the north part of the city. The Poblacion area is the major retail and commercial center of the city. It is filled with banks, restaurants, and local businesses.
Being a major port city, Batangas City has seen an increase in migrants from nearby provinces, islands, and even nation states such as China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Batangas City, then a town at that time, was served by a branch line of the Philippine National Railways until its closure. Today, none of the line exists today as it was removed due to the city's rapid development. There are plans on reviving the old line, with a new alignment.

Batangas Port Tickets and Departure Lounge Puerto Galera Fare by HourPhilippines.com
Batangas Port Tickets and Departure Lounge. The Batangas International Port or locally known as the Batangas Pier, is a seaport in Batangas City primarily serving the Calabarzon region of the Philippines and the staging point for trips to Puerto Galera. It was declared as a national port in 1956. It serves as an alternate port to the Port of Manila. In the 90's it was the second biggest port in the Philippines in terms of revenue, just behind the Port of Manila.
It is located 106 km. from Metro Manila. The Batangas Baseport Phase I has a total area of 22.60 hectares while BPDP II has a total area of 128 hectares.
After arriving in Batangas port, proceed to Terminal 3 where you will find the ticket booth of the ferries going to Puerto Galera. At Batangas Pier, passengers are required to pay the Terminal Fee of PHP 30 ($US 0.75) per person and the Environmental User Fee for tourists going to Puerto Galera of PHP 50 ($US 1.25) per person.
Puerto Galera has 3 major points of entry, namely, Sabang Pier, Muelle Pier, and White Beach. If you are going to Sabang (frequented by foreigners), choose the ferry that will go directly to Sabang Pier. If you are going to White Beach (frequented by locals), make sure that the ferry will go to White Beach. Muelle Pier is the closest to Coco Beach Resort.
There are many shipping companies plying the Batangas-Puerto Galera route. The major passenger ferries are: FSL or Father and Son Shipping Lines, MSL or Minolo Shipping Lines and Galerian Lines. We took Minolo based on recommendations from our friends.
The maximum capacity of an outrigger ferry is from 60 up to 120 passengers. The ticket costs 250 to 280 pesos ($US 6.00 - $US 7.00), one-way.
The first ferry trip to Puerto Galera is at 7:30 am during the normal season and every hour thereafter, one or 2 ferries depart until 4:30 pm which is the last trip to Puerto Galera.
