So nine of those botanicals are brought in. The rest of them are actually foraged on the island. So the distillation is much more complex to what it used to be.

So Gin Spa is the first botanical and gin inspired day spa in the world and it's first into Glasgow. We are focusing on botanical inspired products for our treatments. We also have a complimentary gin bar that we give to our guests after their treatment, or if they are having a manicure they can have a martini and such like cocktail. And where we want to take this journey is the customer is experiencing gin from the minute they come in the door. So the cent of juniper and lime is what they experience as the door opens and we're taking five star products to make sure the customer has a great experience from start to finish.

The growth of the gin market, especially the craft gin market, has been massive. The gin market in the UK, seventy percent of gin made in the UK is actually made in Scotland, but we're moving more towards craft gins rather than the big production gins, that we have in the past. Gin spa has sort of taken the customer, looking at the female customer, who are very much the gin drinkers and thinking what else can we give them. And day spa and gin goes well hand in hand.

We also get a lot of tourists, so they want to kind of try gin, knowing that Scottish gin has become so popular. So they want to try gins that they know are from craft distilleries, so using the local botanicals, people who are actually making it and not just big companies that are churning out bottle after bottle, so it's actually someone's life, someone's job.

University of Leicester chemistry students make their own gin
University of Leicester Chemistry students have been thinking outside the box and putting their degree skills to the test in real-world industry - by conducting a pioneering gin-making experiment.
As part of their mission to innovate and create the world’s greatest gin recipes, Leicestershire-based gin distillery 45 West approached the University of Leicester to see how the University’s leading academic expertise and Botanic Garden research environment could be used to drive innovation in gin-making.
Twelve of the University’s talented science students worked alongside Burleighs Gin Head Distiller, Edward Gibson, to experiment with how they could create new and innovative flavours of gin by using different combinations of botanicals which are grown in the University of Leicester Botanic Garden.
Students were able to put their lab skills to the test during distillation and discovered how a process they frequently use in chemistry experiments is applied in industry to create one of Britain’s most loved drinks. The experiment gave students the opportunity to apply skills learned from their degree in an imaginative way.
Sipsmith Independent Spirits London Dry Gin Review in 4K UHD - from Windsor, England
LONDON DRY GIN
The quintessential expression of a classic, traditional London Dry Gin. Bold, complex and aromatic – smooth enough for a Martini, but rich and balanced, perfect for a G&T.
TASTING NOTES
The Nose
Floral, summer meadow notes, followed by mellow rounded juniper and zesty, citrus freshness.
The Palate
Dry juniper leads, then reveals lemon tart & orange marmalade, before all the flavours harmonise.
The Finish
Dryness leads, with spicy juniper & a hint of lemon tart emerging.
We use ten carefully selected botanicals from around the globe to make our London Dry Gin.
Macedonian juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander seed, French angelica root, Spanish liquorice root, Italian orris root, Spanish ground almond, Chinese cassia bark, Madagascan cinnamon, Sevillian orange peel and Spanish lemon peel.

How to make Soap, The melt and pour easy method
I am sharing how I made some easy melt and pour handmade soaps in today's video. I used two recipes, the first is a honey, oatmeal and almond oil recipe and the second was a lavender and lemongrass recipe. I used a melt and pour goats milk base that I got from Amazon which I will link below. This would make the perfect Christmas DIY or wedding DIY too.
