Tactical Laser Tag, Lake Barrington IL, Battle House Laser Combat
Battle House Laser Combat facility offers an amazing entertainment venue for adult or teenagers birthday parties. Both men and women will undoubtedly have an unforgettable time as your group encounters video game like missions.
Battle House laser tag is unlike no other. The mission-based laser tag is not the traditional “kiddy-style” laser tag with small plastic gaming devices. Rather, it is a thrilling form of entertainment known as tactical laser tag using armory that visibly models those used in military combat training. The experience then requires tactics and team strategies as you engage in a wide variety of mission scenarios such as Blackhawk Down, Total Domination, Search and Destroy or Hostage. Rescue a downed airman, save a hostage, and defuse a bomb are a few of the exciting actions.
We serve the entire Chicago IL and convenient to the suburbs of Crystal Lake, Lake Zurich, Cary, Barrignton, and South Barrington.

Chautauqua 2017: W.E.B DU Bois
William Edward Burghardt Du Bois (1868-1963), played by Bill Grimmette, was a sociologist, author, historian, and a prominent Civil Rights activist of the early twentieth century. Born on February 23, 1868 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Du Bois grew up in an integrated community thanks to the presence of a small, but influential free black population. Du Bois attended Fisk University, a historically black college in Nashville, Tennessee, from 1885 to 1888. After graduating from Fisk, Du Bois attended and obtained two additional degrees from Harvard University – a bachelor’s in history and a Ph.D. in sociology, making him the first African American to obtain a doctorate degree from university. In the early twentieth century, Du Bois emerged as one of the unofficial spokespersons for African Americans. In 1910, Du Bois was a co-founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, where he took the position of Director of Publicity and Research and served as editor of the monthly magazine, The Crisis. Du Bois used his platform to speak out against various issues, including the failure to integrate civil and non-civil service positions, a campaign promise of President Woodrow Wilson. By the mid-twentieth century, Du Bois became a dedicated Pan-Africanist and anti-war activist. On August 27, 1963 at the age of ninety-five, W.E.B. Du Bois died in Accra, Ghana. He was survived by a granddaughter whose name was DuBois Williams MacFarlane and a Great Grandson named Arthur E. MacFarlane, II.

The United States Armed Forces term for urban warfare is UO, an abbreviation for urban operations. The previously used U.S. military term MOUT, an abbreviation for military operations in urban terrain, has been replaced by UO, although the term MOUT Site is still in use.
The British armed forces terms are OBUA (operations in built-up areas), FIBUA (fighting in built-up areas), or sometimes (colloquially) FISH (fighting in someone's house),[2] or FISH and CHIPS (fighting in someone's house and causing havoc in people's streets).[3]
The term FOFO (fighting in fortified objectives) refers to clearing enemy personnel from narrow and entrenched places like bunkers, trenches and strongholds; the dismantling of mines and wires; and the securing of footholds in enemy areas.[4]
Israel Defense Forces calls urban warfare לשב (pronounced LASHAB), a Hebrew acronym for warfare on urban terrain. LASHAB in the IDF includes large-scale tactics (such as utilization of heavy armoured personnel carriers, armoured bulldozers, UAVs for intelligence, etc.), CQB training for fighting forces (how a small team of infantry soldiers should fight in close and built spaces). IDF's LASHAB was developed mainly in recent decades, after the 1982 Lebanon War included urban warfare in Beirut and Lebanese villages, and was further developed during the Second Intifada (2000–2005) in which IDF soldiers entered and fought in Palestinian cities, villages and refugee camps. The IDF has a special large and advanced facility for training soldiers and units in urban warfare.

Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution
The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. It was passed by the Senate on April 8, 1864, by the House on January 31, 1865, and adopted on December 6, 1865. On December 18, 1865, Secretary of State William H. Seward proclaimed its adoption. It was the first of the three Reconstruction Amendments adopted following the American Civil War.
Slavery had been tacitly protected in the original Constitution through clauses such as the Three-Fifths Compromise, by which three-fifths of the slave population was counted for representation in the United States House of Representatives. Though many slaves had been declared free by Lincoln's 1863 Emancipation Proclamation, their post-war status was uncertain. On April 8, 1864, the Senate passed an amendment to abolish slavery. After one unsuccessful vote and extensive legislative maneuvering by the Lincoln administration, the House followed suit on January 31, 1865. The measure was swiftly ratified by nearly all Northern states, along with a sufficient number of border and reconstructed Southern states, to cause it to be adopted before the end of the year.
