This Byain Nyi Cave pagoda is a little bit far from the center of Hpa-an. It takes a time for 30 mins by a car or motor bike. But there is a hot spring? and many monkeys live in the pagoda. If you want to take a hot spring or see many monkeys, you must come to here. And the hot spring can soak with your clothes, so it is better to wear your swim suit or half pants. When I went to the pagoda, the water of hot spring was not clean. The temperature of the water was 40 degrees, so that it was the good temperature.

While visiting Hpa An you will definitely need to visit some caves because there are plenty of them there. We decided to show you the 5 best caves to visit in Hpa An in Myanmar.
We have visited Sadan Cave, Kaw Ka Taung Cave, Kawgun Cave, Yathaypyan Cave and Bat Cave during the sunset.

The Bayin Nyi cave is located north of Hpa-An; the closet notable town is Thaton. As you walk up the hill to the cave, there is a large entrance chamber that is filled with many statues and Buddhas.
Leading into the caves is a raised path. It is raised because seasonal rains sometimes cause some areas to pool. Just inside the main cave is a pagoda that is a relatively modern structure.
The cave itself is not illuminated by natural light. However, there are said to be intermittent areas that are lit by sunlight through small openings in the rock ceiling. During the latter part of the wet season, there is sometimes a chance to enjoy hot springs that form due to the amount of water in the area.

A short trip to Hpa-An in Kayin State, Myanmar - this city is really too underrated :')
Rented a bike and had a lot of time so we covered quite a number of places:
- Bayin Nyi Bat Caves: supposedly there's hot springs, but we didn't see those - maybe it's the dry season now oh well
- Ya Tae Pyan Caves: climb around the caves you'd find some nice views!
- Kawgun Cave
- Hike up Mount Zwegabin: MUST DO
- Lumbini Gardens: at the base of Zwegabin
- Kaw Ka Thaung Cave, with a swimming pool and a couple of nice restaurants behind it
- Saddan Cave: there's a boat ride at the exit to bring you back to the entrance~
- Waterfall Swimming Pools: didn't see a waterfall ): maybe during the rainy seasons it'd be there?
- Kyauk Kalat Pagoda
- Bat Cave: go around sunset (at 5.30pm) to see hundreds of thousands of bats leave the cave every day
- Veranda Youth Community Cafe: really nice place with good food, and part of their profits goes to helping the youth in the state
- Hpa An Lodge Restaurant: chill place with good French food and wine hehe

Myanmar monkeys are friendly. They never steal the mine and foods from human.
Especially, the monkeys of Bayin Nyi Cave is really quiet and friendly.
We can feed the snacks and foods to the monkeys.

Hpa-an was one of our most favorite places on our trip through Myanmar. The town itself is the capital of the Kayin State, but the beautiful surrounding is what it makes it so special.
We rented an (awesome) motorbike (yes, with a basket in front) and we'll show you around the sights and caves of Hpa-an.

Hpa-an is the capital and largest city of Kayin State, Myanmar. The population of Hpa-an as of the 2014 census was 421,575. Most of the people in Hpa-an are of the Karen ethnic group.
Mt Hpan Pu is a craggy, pagoda-topped peak that can be scaled in one sweaty morning. To get here, hop on a boat across the Thanlwin River from the informal jetty near Shweyinhmyaw Paya. After reaching the other side, you’ll walk through a quiet village before the steep but relatively short ascent to the top. The views of the river and the surrounding rice fields and limestone cliffs (including Mt Zwegabin) are astounding.

Have you explored Hpa-An, Myanmar?
Hpa-An is about 7 hours east of Yangon by bus.
There are many things to do in Hpa-An but the best thing to do is explore the caves. The best cave is Saddan cave, where you can see many statues of Buddha as well as bats and take a boat ride!
How do you get to these caves? You can rent a scooter for the day for about 8000 Kyat, which is about $8 CDN. It is well worth your money and time! Wake up early and go explore those caves!
Don't forget to go and explore the bat cave and watch millions of bats leave the cave for the night!
The street food at the local night market is incredible as well. You must try all of the delicious food. It all costs around 500 Kyat or about $.50 CDN.
The last, but maybe the first thing to do in Hpa-An is make friends with the locals and watch sunset by the lake!
