Grant's Getaways: Bayocean Peninsula Park
I love the kind of travel that puts me in touch with adventure – especially when it promises to teach me more about Oregon’s past.
Drive west from the town of Tillamook to reach Bay Ocean Road that skirts the southern end of Tillamook Bay. Soon, you’ll come face to face with the site of Bayocean Peninsula Recreation Area, a now-extinct community that was a developer’s dream turned homeowner’s nightmare.

Bayocean Split Overnighter
Bayocean split in Tillamook bay, Oregon. Cool little peninsula in the bay. We hiked in on the bay side where there are trees and brush and then we walked back the next day on the beach side. Really pretty. Excellent weather. Around 7 miles total. Please forgive the audio sync issues.

I didn't quite end up at the right destination in the video, but I after turning the camera off I found it.

Spencer C.'s Review on The Dyrt:
▶︎ Nice quiet camping next to a river
This is Nehalem Falls Campground, site T3. It's one of six walk-in tent sites at this campground in the Tillamook National Forest. You park the car about 50 feet away and bring your gear in. The campground also has about ten car camping sites and two group sites (the only ones that can be reserved). The tent sites are very private and right on the Nehalem River which is warm enough to swim in.

I did a little editing, but not too much. I just wanted to capture things I found interesting on my journey around the peninsula. It was a big trip, but the weather cooperated, which made it nice.
I walked so much that I got rash burn in between my legs. Or, skin rash may be because I'm fat and need to lose weight. However, I'm not willing to lose weight until the weather warms up a little more.

Grant's Getaways: Cape Foulweather
As the seasons change, the sun, surf and sand merge in a breathtaking moment along the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway.
That’s especially true along the Central Oregon coast at a place whose name couldn’t be further from the truth on a day too nice to stay indoors: Cape Foulweather.
