The Catalinas Islands are a perfect place for scuba diving and snorkeling in Costa Rica , home to a fantastic variety of marine life. White Tip Reef Sharks, Eagle Rays, Devil Rays, Turtles, Dolphins, Moray Eels, Puffer Fish, giant clusters of schooling Jacks, Grunts and more..
The Islands are situated about a half hour boat ride from Flamingo Marina and the huge prize is to swim with the Pacific Giant Manta whose wing span can be wider than a vehicle is long. These can be found in the Catalinas for most of the year. There has also been occasional whale shark and orca whale sightings in the area. Sightings of thehumpback whale and dolphins are also quite common.

In this Episode, we travel to Playa del Coco and set off on a 2 dive trip to Catalinas Islands with Deep Blue Diving. The visibility is not great, but we still manage to spot lots of marine life, like puffer fish, moray eels, angel stingrays, octopus, and more.

Octopuses are just one of the amazing things that you can see at the Catalina islands!
As you can see in the video these incredible animals can change the entire color of there body in an instant. This can help them blend in perfectly with their surroundings to avoid predators. They are solitary creatures that usually live alone in dens built from rocks, which the octopus moves into place using its powerful arms.

Octopuses are widely considered to be the most intelligent of all invertebrates. Like chimpanzees, dolphins, and others, octopuses are among the special set of intelligent animals that have been observed using tools.
These crazy invertebrates have 3 heart, one that pumps blood through its organs; and two others pump blood through its gills.
Their skin changes color and pattern to blend in with their surroundings. Even when you find yourself looking directly at an octopus, chances are you won’t realize it.
Octopuses are one of the many incredible animals you can see while diving at the Catalina Islands.
