The Whitsundays has many natural attractions that are significant within Australia and globally, including the Great Barrier Reef, the second most visited attraction in Queensland, visited by over half a million international visitors each year.
The Whitsundays is a paradise of islands. Of the 74 islands, only 8 are inhabited leaving 66 virtually untouched islands which provide the perfect setting for a day of exploring or simply relaxing on the secluded beaches and coves.

Four years ago I fell in love with an Australian girl which I can call my wife now. It didn't take long to fall in love with the country as well. After one year of planning our wedding in Australia it was finally happening. We couldn't wait to show Australia to our closest friends and my family. Nearly 30 germans made it to Australia and built a holiday around our special day. This video shows a little recap of our unforgettable 4 weeks together in Australia.
If you ever planning to go to Australia, the following places and activities come highly recommended by us. They are all tested and approved by us - some of them already several times:
Adelaide, South Australia
- Adelaide Hills (great hikes and views)
- Barossa Valley (make a day trip and drink lots of delicious red wines)
- Glenelg Beach
- Seacliff Beach
- Innes National Park (my favorite National Park in Australia rent a beach house in Marion Bay)
Airlie Beach, Queensland
- Whitehaven Beach (voted Australias No1 beach)
- Great Barrier Reef (go scuba diving and experience breathing under water)
- Heart Reef (book an unforgettable helicopter tour and see the reef from the air)
Sydney, New South Wales
- Bondi to Bronte Coastal Walk (do not forget your bathers and have a swim at the Bronte Baths)
- Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb (book the sunset slot)
