Port d'Alcudia in Majorca
Port d’Alcúdia is a popular resort town and holiday destination on the northeast coast of Mallorca. From about mid-April through the end of the September, Port d’Alcúdia is bustling with people who have come to have fun and enjoy all that this port and its surroundings has to offer. In and around the port, including all along the beach, are rows of vacation oriented apartment buildings and small hotels that cater to families, as well as young and old wanting a beach holiday. For Mallorca, it is a relatively large port with a marina that can receive big ferry boats and thus serve as a point of arrival and departure for boat rides to nearby Menorca and as far as to Barcelona. The beach is the main point of interest here, as well as the many beach activities and water sports from paddle boats to SUP to paragliding. Located about 5-10 minutes drive from Alcúdia, an attractive village full of history with an ancient past that includes Roman, Phoenician and Arab cultures with a nicely restored ancient town centre, this north-eastern part of the island mixes stunning, arid landscapes with fun outdoor activities like golf, waterparks and of course, beach, beach beach.

History and Culture
Port d’Alcúdia originally served as a gateway for the north to other nearby islands, and as a transport hub bringing goods to inland towns, principally, its nearby neighbour, Alcúdia. But the port grew quickly in the last 30-40 years, establishing itself as a holiday destination, particularly among Europeans, rather than as a commercial transportation port.
Major Attractions in Port d’Alcúdia
The main attraction here is the large, expansive beach that is nearly 3 kilometres long, starting from the centre of the port and going down to Playa de Muro and filled with water sports, boating, and related outdoor activities. The water here is calm and clear, and you need to walk out quite far before it gets deep. Nearby attractions include Hidropark, a large water park that also features mini golf, trampolines, and restaurants. What’s great about Port d’Alcúdia as a holiday destination is that there is something for everyone. If someone in your group doesn’t fancy the beach and wants to be active, nearby Golf Alcanada is a fantastic and welcoming 18-hole course with well maintained greens, and a nice clubhouse. For art lovers, the Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation is home to unique sculpture and a selection of work from their extensive private collection. Or venture a bit further to Playa de Muro, a very popular and beautiful beach with all the amenities you need.

Things to do in Port d’Alcúdia
Any number of water sports activities can be done from the beach around Port d’Alcudia; Swim, snorkel, windsurf, SUP, boating, paragliding and jet skiing are all available and there are a number of kiosks along the beach from where you can hire the equipment or book a boat trip. The tourist information office is right in the centre of the port, near an attractive wood bridge that offers some perspective and nice views of the beach and marina. Visit Alcudiamar, a tourist and sports harbour where you can find some good restaurant options and a sports centre that offers all sorts of water activities as well. Other fun excursion from the port include day trips to Menorca, Dolphin watching tours, and glass bottom boats.
