TOP THINGS TO DO IN MORNINGTON MELBOURNE VICTORIA AUSTRALIA
Mornington Is a seaside suburb of Melbourne, Victoria in Australia.
It is at the start of the Mornington Peninsula which is the summer playground for not only people living in Melbourne but also those from interstate and around the world.
The town started as a fishing village on Port Phillip Bay. Hence today the city revolves around its beaches and fishishg harbour. When the weather is nice, the main streets are full of people in cafes, restaurants and bars which spill onto the pavement. Main street also becomes a virtual car show with local car enthusiasts showing off their pride and joy. A lot of car clubs do the round trip drive to Mornington from Melbourne.
There are Plenty of beaches for many different activities, including swimming, snorkelling, sailing, boating, fossil hunting and fishing.
The Briars is a couple of minutes drive out of town. It includes bushwalking/hiking in the wildlife sanctuary, Heritage homestead and garden, Eco living Display Centre, Shire Nursery. Restaurant, Cafe, Outdoor Ed Camp, Astronomical Society, BBQs, Picnics, Boardwalks, River Estuary, Outdoor Cinema and Vineyard. So you can spend quite a while here.
Closer into town are the Mornington Botanical Rose Gardens and Oak Hill Gallery.
Every Wednesday is the street market in Main street where stalls are set up along the pavement in town. It goes from 9.00 till 3.00 . Every second Sunday of the month is the big market at the Mornington Racecourse which is every second sunday of the month.

Exploring Mornington Australia - part 1
The town of Mornington is located 57kms south of Melbourne CBD along the Mornington Peninsula. It has a population of 23,989. Mornington is known for its village atmosphere and its beautiful beaches. It is a popular tourist destination with Melbournians who often make day trips to visit the area's bay beaches and wineries. The town centre runs into the foreshore area and local beach, which features a yacht club, restaurant and park with playground facilities.
The Mornington Pier is a favourite fishing spot for locals and those driving from Melbourne. Many a fish and squid has been caught of the pier.

We celebrated Andy's birthday by having a kid-free Saturday. It was glorious! We headed down to the back beaches of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, and managed to capture some pretty sweet footage, all thanks to being child-free.

A classic modern design, the Gunnamatta Course at St. Andrews Beach is a proud example of Tom Doaks' minimalist design ethos. A 9-iron from the ocean swells of Bass Strait, this modern links forms part of a very natural environment and on occasions gives the outward appearance of a rugged and wind blown landscape. But these elements are the essence of links golf and Doak has excelled in his capacity to create a brilliantly playable and fun golf course for all.
Variation is what makes this course fun to play. Green sites nestled in hollows with fairways that feed to ball to the green encourage the knock down shot or the bump and run with the ball releasing towards the pin. Others, where greens are elevated, with steep run offs encouraging the approach to be well up. From the tees, golfers might often be encouraged to take driver, but wide open spaces generally dictate a darker side in the strategic intent of the hole, where best position on the fairway to a tricky green might may well involve a risk and reward scenario...often taking on a wonderful bunkering plan.
Once will NOT be enough! This is a course that embodies the best elements of links golf with many design features influenced by the great Scottish golf links. The more you play it, the more you will love it!

Sunnyside, Nude Beach | Melbourne, Victoria | Explore Australia | Mornington Peninsula
#Sunnyside North Beach is a clothes-optional beach located at Mount Eliza, #Port Philip Bay, in the State of Victoria, Australia. It is designated as a legal #nudist #beach. It is the only clothes-optional beach on the east side of Port Philip Bay.
It is a nude beach, where sun bathers come and become nude to develop confidence among themselves.
Sex and Alcohol in the beach is strictly prohibited along with the pets.
Sunnyside North is a sheltered, secluded beach on the eastern side of Port Phillip, near Mount Eliza. It attracts many families and is a safe beach for swimming. There is a large grassed area to sunbathe and shady areas to sit south of the carpark, not in the clothes optional area. The clothing optional area is NOT where the carpark is. To get to the clothing optional area look for a narrow path i.e. Start walking back up the carpark with the water to your left and you will see the path. Continue along the narrow 1 foot wide winding path for about 400 metres and you will see the nude area.
How to reach: The beach is near the end of Sunnyside Road, off Nepean Highway about 2.5 km south of Mount Eliza. The car park is in front of Sunnyside beach, which is not a nudist beach. Sunnyside North, the clothes optional beach is in the next cove which is a 10-minute bush walk from the carpark.
A path leads from the Sunnyside Beach carpark to Sunnyside North Beach around the point to the right (north). At high tide the beach is accessible via a path over the cliffs (although over recent years, erosion has taken its toll on this path and as of 2012, it is no longer continuous and pretty much unusable) at low tide you can also walk along the beach and over the rocks that divide the 2 beaches. Reasonably sturdy shoes are recommended.
The Shire of Mornington Peninsula is a local government area in Victoria, Australia. It is located to the south of the city of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula. It has an area of 723 square kilometres.
