Bear's Hump - Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada
This early morning video is taken from the top of Bear's Hump on Mount Crandell in Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada. The Panorama includes excellent views over Waterton Village, The Prince of Wales Hotel, Middle Waterton Lake and Upper Waterton Lake. Views south down Upper Waterton Lake extend into Glacier National Park in Montana, USA.
Hiking Waterton Lakes National Park, Canada⛰???? - Bear's Hump Mountain
This hike is perfect for families with small children. It can be done anywhere from 30-45 minutes. I'm pretty sure our five year old was the first one to make it to the top… unlike his mom ???? Its a good thing my husband carried our 2 year old 32Lbs. baby otherwise I wouldn't have made it to the top!???? This is a fun hike and afterwards you can go enjoy the village, it has a spray park, a movie theatre, restaurants, the freezing cold lake, nice walking areas, small shops, bike rentals and my personal favourite ice cream shops!???????????? Unfortunately, the wildfires made it into Waterton and burned down the Visitor's Centre, but at least the village or the Prince of Wales Hotel didn't burn. Phew!

Mt. Crandell (Bear's Hump Route) - Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta, Canada)
2017-06-17 -- Mount Crandell sits adjacent to the village in Waterton Park. There are several ways to the top but the most challenging non-technical route (i.e., scrambling) is the ascent via Bear's Hump. This path requires a patience, good gloves and pants, careful route finding and some decent scrambling skills.
EDIT: Unfortunately, from Sept. 10-11, '17 many of the trees and other vegetation on this route burned in the Kenow Mt. Fire.

Bear Hump Mount Trail Hike is one of the most beautiful scenic hiking trails you could embark upon. It over looks the city of Waterton Lakes National Park.
Waterton Lakes National Park is located along the border of Alberta Canada and Montana United States. Proper Documentations and Passport and Visa is A MUST if you really want to explore this park.
Half of the Lake is in Canada and the other half is in Montana United States. If you wish to do the deep hiking trails on the mountain tops, then be sure to bring your Passport And Proper VISA documentations. Trust ME this is not a place where you go and say I am not sure if visa was required here. DO NOT PLAY THAT GAME. It insults the intelligence of the Border Police and Customs Agents. Do IT LEGALLY and Properly. There is no need to be an ass about everything.
This place is beautiful. Beautiful Hiking Trails, beautiful waterfalls, beautiful lakes for canoeing and fishing and hiking or bonfire and family time. Please obey all Fire Ban Signs and Orders. Or you will be KICKED OUT without any refunds.
This is a very nice family friendly place. RV Camping, Van Camping, Tent Camping, if you can reserve your spot do so. Everything else is on a First Come First Serve Basis here. This is a very busy place so do come prepared. There are groceries and shops in there but things will be very expensive to buy so do come prepared and bring plenty of stuff that you daily use and need.
There are shower facilities and plenty of drinking water and space if very limited though and very close to each other.
Bear Hump Waterton Lakes National Park Alberta Canada
Summit Of Bear Hump Trail in Waterton Lakes National Park Alberta Canada along the border of Montana United States in the Glacier National Park.
This is National Park which covers literally Southern Alberta Canada and most of North Central Montana United States. The Waterton Lakes is divided into Two Parts. Upper Waterton Lakes and Lower Waterton Lakes. The Upper Waterton Lakes is in Alberta Canada and the Lower Waterton Lakes is in Montana United States. One of the Most Beautiful places you would want to be. Best Time to visit is June and early July for the summer. But also have its fall colour change visiting time and spring and skiing in Winter.
It is in and around a small town called Waterton and it has some of the most beautiful Hiking Trails, Canoeing and Fishing.
Within the parts there are Water Falls such as Cameron Water Fall and many others such as Blackiston Falls and Canyons and many fun trails and things to do. If you are ever in that area, do drop by and see for yourself.

Getting out my comfort zone and having the courage to hike up the mountains by myself for the first time. It was a great feeling to be able to say: Yay! I made it! What a great accomplishment for me as a first time solo mountain hiker. When you are up there, there is a totally amazing feeling of freedom. And its so peaceful! I wish people would see the world that way. I wish people would just go for a walk, hike, run and enjoy the beauty around us that God has given us. Wouldn't that be awesome! The world would be without evil and violence. Well we can only hope and pray! But anything is possible I believe.
Nevertheless, Hiking @ Bear's Hump in the morning by myself was exciting. As I said it was my first solo hike in the mountains. It was painful going up, but it was worth the climb. It's 5000 ft. high to get to the top. It was amazingly beautiful up there. I didn't want to leave!???????? It was a magical place to hike indeed.

Bertha Lake Hike in Waterton | Journey Alberta
The Bertha Lake hike in Waterton Lakes National Park is one of the reopened trails affected by the 2017 Kenow Wildfire. It's a moderate trail up to the lake, and also goes past the beautiful Bertha Falls. The lake itself seemed mostly unaffected by the fire, with lots of trees seemingly unburnt at the lake. On the way to the lake however, evidence of the fire is all around you. You'll walk through ash in some parts and see burnt trees, which is a different experience on a hike.
This video was originally part of my Camping in Waterton 2018 video I made, but since I've got some requests lately to do this hike in a video it was clear it was overlooked because there wasn't a specific video for it.
