Bear Glacier, British Columbia
The first glacier I've ever seen. Just off hiway 37 in northern BC is a road to Stewart-Hyder. About 30kms down that road is Bear Glacier. I am with my dad on our road trip through BC.
Bear Glacier Highway 37A British Columbia Canada
Bear Glacier Provincial Park and Bear Glacier is located in Northern British Columbia along the Highway 37A going into Stewart British Columbia Canada and Hyder Alaska United States.
One of the most beautiful drives you can go on. If you love Glaciers and beautiful pure and spectacular wilderness and wildlife and picturesque scenery then this place is for you. Especially for the RV and Motorcycles and Road Trip People. There is a lot of grizzly bears and black bears in the area so please watch out and be prepared and respect their space and your safety.
It is North of Prince Rupert yet it does not have direct Route to it from Prince Rupert but if you are Boating to Hyder Alaska and Stewart Canada then make sure to go and see this place. Also close by into this areas is the World Famous Glacier called Salmon Glacier.
The FUNNY thing about this Salmon Glacier is that it is in Canada but in order to go and drive to it, you have to go through Alaska United States. That is the ONLY ROAD access. It is worth it.
Hyder, Alaska - Ghost towns, Glaciers and Bears Oh My! ????????????????????

Description
Bear Glacier
driving by bear glacier on my way home from stewart
Ice arch at Bear Glacier, BC
The opening of the arch is about 30 feet across, and the chunks of ice show that it's rapidly falling apart. These arches are signs of a retreating glacier - a dying glacier. The high water content of the ice around the under-glacier steams makes it the densest, so it's the last to melt away as the glacier retreats.
