Bearcat's Fish House : Best Smoked Fish in Algoma WI
Bearcat's Fish House sits on the shores of Lake Michigan in Algoma, WI. They are one of the last smokehouses standings that still use actual fires to do the hard work of smoking fish - and the results are delicious!
In addition to a wide selection of smoked fish, they offer both fresh and frozen seafood - and will also do custom smoking of your big catch.
We paid them a visit on our recent trip around the Great Lakes, and will definitely be back!

Shanty Days - Algoma, WI : Lake Michigan Festival
Every year the town of Algoma Wisconsin plays host to one of the largest weekend small-town festivals on Lake Michigan. A parade, food, live music, vendors and more jam into the downtown area to show love for the lake.
On a recent trip around Lake Michigan, the 50 Campfires crew found themselves knee deep in the festivities, and we knew that we had to join in.

Gnome Fun in Algoma, WI
This week I took a trip to Algoma, Wisconsin to hang with friends and family. The weather was beautiful so Jessica and I did some kayaking on Lake Michigan out around the lighthouse. While kayaking around the lighthouse we came across some comrades, which were awesome to see up close. I also had some fun playing with the giant yard gnome!
P.S. I love gnomes!
