Sailing Channel Islands, Beaucette on Guernsey
An extraordinary harbour. Granite quarry. The British Army is said to have used explosives for blasting out the entrance as part of an army exercise.
Diana leaving Beaucette Marina July 2012
Beaucette Marina in Guernsey was a quarry and the British army used explosives to blast out the exit out to the sea.
In July 2012 Diana helmed the Yacht Teddy Bear, a Westerly Storm 33' , with the sun was directly into her eyes out of the marina
The rocks are as scary as they look!
Also remember when dyslexic Bernard says 'left' he sometimes means 'right'!

The Construction of the QE2 Marina, Guernsey
WATCH IN FULL SCREEN MODE TO SEE MORE DETAIL a video showing the construction of the QE2 Marina at St. Peter Port, Guernsey in the Channel Islands. It also shows recent video of what it looks like now. It was built between 1984 and 1989 and covers an area of 20 acres. I was only 11 - 13 years old when I took the photos and it was done on an 124 or 126 format camera which gave square photos.

Beaucette Marina Approaches - the Safe Water Mark
Description: Beaucette Marina Approaches, here is the Safe Water Mark. This buoy appears with it's distinctive red and white vertical lines before the channel marks. The lay buoys , usually x6 are on the shoreline ahead of the bow at the start of this clip. At low tide especially on spring tides.a drying sill appears in the entrance to the marina. Enjoy. Jun 14
