The Beauharnois Hydroelectric Power Station is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station along the Saint Lawrence Seaway on the Saint Lawrence River, in Quebec, Canada.
The station was built in three phases, and comprises 36 turbines, capable of generating up to 1,853 MW of electrical power. Constructions on the facility began in 1930 and was completed in 1961.

Aerial tour of multiple hydroelectric water dams around Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Waters from the Ottawa River flowing eastbound merges into the parallel waters of the St-Laurence River only to eventually widen on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. Footage filmed from drones in flight show powerful water current helping to create staggering amount of hydro electricity. These engineering marvels provide energy to Canada and the USA to help sustain life needs using some of the cleanest method to produce electricity.
Footage from the start to 9:35 shows the Bayard Bay dam and the two July Island dams all located in Sallaberry-de-Valleyfield, a suburb outside of Montreal. Footage from 9:36 to 19:00 shows the Beauharnois power generating station located between the towns of Melocheville and Beauharnois, also on the outskirts of Montreal. Footage from 19:01 to the end shows the Carillon generating station located on the border of Quebec and Ontario in the small town of Carillon.

AltaGas’ Northwest Hydroelectric Facilities consists of three run-of-river hydroelectric facilities; the 195-MW Forrest Kerr Facility, the 16-MW Volcano Creek Facility and the 66-MW McLymont Creek Facility. Together they generate approximately 277-MW of clean electricity which is distributed through BC Hydro’s Northwest Transmission Line. The $1 billion project was the most significant undertaking in AltaGas’ history.
