Dias Museum Complex Mossel Bay
This museum is built around the Post Office Tree, which has been in use as a post office since 1500. Visit the Shell Museum, experience a Braille Trail, and spend time in the Maritime Museum (which houses a replica of the Caravel in which Bartolomeu Dias becams the first European navigator to round the cape, and which he sailed into Mossel Bay for the first time on 3 February, 1488)

Plettenberg Bay is a must visit when you are a surfer, or just like nature - There are elephant parks around the corner in Knysna.
Adventure Land is a water park between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay on a 24 hectare property, with a 75m long supertube and a 25m midi supertube for the little ones as well as a kamakazi slide and a stuka 12m high free fall slide - not for the faint hearted.
For the small kids there is a little slide that plunges into a baby pool, plus a play park with swings, trampolines, jungle jym and lots more. If that's not enough then take a quad bike ride on an exciting and scenic 3.5 km route through our forest. Centrally situated along the Garden Route between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna, just 3km from Garden of Eden.

The Garden Route is a popular and scenic stretch of the south-eastern coast of South Africa. It stretches from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River which is crossed along the N2 coastal highway over the Paul Sauer Bridge in the extreme western reach of the neighbouring Eastern Cape. The name comes from the verdant and ecologically diverse vegetation encountered here and the numerous lagoons and lakes dotted along the coast. It includes towns such as Mossel Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley; with George, the Garden Route's largest city and main administrative centre.

When the BBC published the fifth title in its Unforgettable series – ‘Unforgettable Walks to Take Before You Die’ – it named four of Africa’s trails among its choice of the thirty most spectacular in the world.
One was in Mali, one was the ascent of Kilimanjaro – and two were in South Africa: the Tierkloof Trail in the Gamkaberg, and the 5-day Oystercatcher Trail from Mossel Bay to the Gourits River Mouth.
