omni bedford springs resort
I took a trip to revolutionary war country and it was on my list to visit the Omni Bedford springs resort.
though I didn't stay the night, management was gracious enough to allow me to do a little video blog.
I have ancestors from the region and the first thing I noticed upon entering the hotel was that it smelled like grandpa's home, they had several woodburning fireplaces and they were in use. the wood smell is specific to the Appalachian mountain region.
the property is immense and the architecture and grounds are amazing. there is a lot I did not record from the golf course to the ball rooms, however, if you get the chance I am sure you will enjoy your stay.
james buchanan used the resort as the summer whitehouse in the 1800's and you can visit where George Washington stayed in town ( now gardners candies ) during the whiskey rebellion
Bedford is rich in history such as George Washington crushing the whiskey rebellion in the early years of the nation

You’ll never forget Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum. The larger-than-life collection features more than 12,000 elephant figurines, circus souvenirs, political paraphernalia, toys and more. Mister Ed received his first elephant as a wedding gift and bought a few more on his honeymoon. He found more here and there, and soon friends and family began adding to his growing herd. It just got out of hand, and now the elephants are on display for all to enjoy free-of-charge.
Caledonia State Park is a 1,125-acre Pennsylvania state park in Greene Township, Franklin County and Franklin Township, Adams County in southern Pennsylvania. The park is named for the Caledonia Furnace

Traditional Ukrainian Food Challenge w/ Shashlik, Vareniki, and Borscht!!
In late August 2019, my friends Christopher Lucido and Todd Konitzer traveled with me all the way to Ukraine to meet our friends Lucas (long-time subscriber) and Sandra. The first thing we did was travel to Poltava, Ukraine for an incredible festival where I got to participate in a traditional Ukrainian food challenge!! This was an exhibition where I attempted to eat 1kg of shashlik (pork), 1kg of vareneki (dumplings), and 1kg of borscht soup. Delicious!! There was just a one sitting time limit and I was trying to finish the traditional 3kg meal as fast as possible. The festival organizers had a group of Ukrainian women singing and dancing behind me which made the event so much fun!! BIG thanks to Todd for all his help producing this video, which includes some awesome drone shots!! Check it out and thanks to everyone who watches and shares it!! We filmed 3 vlog-style videos during the trip, and those will post the next 3 Wednesdays - the Poltava Festival, Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and the abandoned Pripyat, Ukraine.
