Cologne is a 2000 year old city in western Germany spanning the Rhine River. Some things to do in Cologne include visiting the Cologne Cathedral and doing a sightseeing cruise!
Restaurants we visited in Cologne are Bei d'r Tant Kolsch and the second one was supposed to be Bierhaus en d'r Salzgass but outside there is a whole plaza of brewhouses!
German foods to eat in Cologne include:
-Halve Hanh, a famous traditional sandwich. Name is half a rooster but there's no meat!
-Himmel und Erde, fried black pudding with mashed potatoes, apple sauce and onions!
-Mettbrotchen, raw pork sausage meat on bread!
-Kolsch, the beer of Colgone! Must try this beer in Germany :)!

Drinking Kolsch Beer in Cologne, Germany
Kolsch is the beer of Cologne, Germany…and when in Cologne, one must drink Kolsch! We joined an entertaining pub crawl, which included a hearty pre-drinking classic German meal of pork, kraut and potato salad. With the proper base, we bar hopped to six brew houses to sample fresh Kolsch beer straight from the barrel. The production of Kolsch beer is limited to breweries located within 50km of Cologne, which must meet strict requirements to carry the name ‘Kolsch’. In the taverns, waiters – called kobe – carry a two-tiered tray of beer, replacing any empty glasses with full ones. Only when we placed a coaster over our beer did they stop leaving more. So…how many did we have? We must admit: we lost count! Prost! More about our Viking Amsterdam to Budapest Cruise:

Cologne, Land of the Kölsch.
We would like to indroduce Tim, the Beer Pilgrim, who explored the traditional drink of Cologne - the Kölsch beer:
There are few places on earth where the locals are more proud of their local beer style than the Cologners are about their Kölsch. So proud in fact that they have actually protected it by law! To visit Cologne and experience this local beer style is something every beer lover has to do at least once in their life – this is my experience.

We Tried Glühbier (Mulled Beer) at Cologne Christmas Market | Vlogmas Day 8
We've had such a great time exploring Germany, and France, and seeing how amazing and different Christmas markets can be here.
Everything has to come to an end and this is the last German Christmas market that we will visit this year.
It definitely is one of the most impressive ones, not only the picturesque Cologne Dom, but also the market itself looks like nothing else we have seen during our Vlogmas adventures.
It was absolutely worth the over 4 hour train ride each way to see this amazing German city.
Christmas markets are taken very seriously here and if anyone is thinking about visiting I would absolutely recommend it and it is definitely worth your time and money to venture over.
We hope you've enjoyed exploring all these Christmas markets with us. It has been as eye-opening for us as it might have been for you.
We aren't finished yet though...there are some more Vlogmas adventures to come.
Here is everything you need to know about visiting Cologne Christmas market...which is probably out of date already but you get the idea:

EUROPE VLOG #3 - What to See & Eat in Cologne, Germany!!
We only had a day and a half in Cologne, Germany but I think we saw all of the major buildings/sites! The most amazing thing was definitely the Cologne Cathedral. The walk across the Rhine River is beautiful, there are probably millions of locks attached to the bridge, and so is the view on the other side! Max Stark was 100% our favourite restaurant atmosphere and food wise. Kebapland was kind of far but definitely delicious and cheap! The schnitzel at Bei Oma was a bit more expensize but HUGE. We probably wouldn't go there again since the portions were so big we couldn't finish them and they don't taste good the next day. NEXT STOP: PARIS :)

Who goes to Germany and doesn't experience OKTOBERFEST?! It's one of the worlds biggest beer fests rooted in Bavarian tradition.
