SAB World of Beer - Visit the South African Breweries in Johanneburg
SAB World of Beer - In 1995 the SAB World of Beer was built to commemorate SA Breweries centenary. Situated in downtown Johannesburg, in the bustling precinct of Newtown, this top tourist attraction draws nearly 50 000 visitors a year and was the Winner in the Welcome Awards by SA Tourism and its partners in 2010. This venue also offers 5 star conference facilities as officially ranked by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. A visit to the SAB World of Beer is an experience with a difference. An introduction to the founder of this brewery of note is first on the agenda. Ukhamba relives the story of African beer with a sip of sorghum to satisfy the taste buds. From Africa to Europe, to look in on the father of European brewing, Josef Groll and the diligent monks who, believe it or not, took on the noble role of brewing beer. And where does beer making begin? The Greenhouse offers a glimpse of barley and hops growing. As beer is part of the heritage of most countries, it is fitting to illustrate its early role in the mining hub of South Africa, in a Heritage Hall. Experience the unique vibe of a traditional shebeen where the love of beer defied the laws of prohibition. In the Brands Hall a 180 degree screen allows you to hone in on the wonders of each brand as enjoyed by beer drinking South Africans. And for the cherry on the cake, or should that be the head on the beer, the grand finale of the tour two complimentary ice-cold beers in the Tap Room. Tours are run from Tuesdays to Saturdays at R25 per person with delicious pub lunches served between 11 and 4 pm.

South African Cuisine: An Introduction to South African Food
South African Cuisine: An Introduction to South African Food
As we made our way from Johannesburg to Cape Town we enjoyed trying as many different kinds of South African cuisine as possible. From Braai to Biltong we sampled a lot of new things for the first time. Aside from possibly Argentina, I can't think of a country that does better barbecue and wine. However, I learned my lesson that barbecue is merely a sauce and grilled meat to perfection is what you can Braai. Come join us as we eat and drink our way around South Africa.

Stellenbrau Brewery - E07
Stellenbrau is a microbrewery about 40 minutes from Cape Town, based on the outskirts of Stellenbosch's CBD. They produce high-quality craft beer that stood their ground and gave the proverbial finger to mass produced beer.
This is one of those “man had a dream stories” as the owner simply woke up one day and decided; now I'm going to make beer! You can visit them for a short brewery tour, do some beer tasting or simply grab a unique beer, sit back and enjoy.

In Soweto Gold beer, a taste of economic freedom
Soweto, an enduring symbol of apartheid discrimination and impoverishment, is now home to the first microbrewery built in a black township. Special correspondent Martin Seemungal offers a look at South Africa's rising black middle class and what it means for that country's transformation.
WATCH: How Soweto Gold is made
Watch: Master brewer Ndumiso Madlala gives us a walk through his brewery in Orlando West, the country’s first black-owned micro-brewery.

Beer tasting at Woodstock Brewery
Woodstock Brewery was such a refreshing stop in the heart of Woodstock, South Africa. After walking up and down the streets of Woodstock, I was exhausted and came across the brewery. They had a variety of brews available including their seasonal and speciality beers. Their staff was friendly and very informative as he explained each beer they offered in detail. Their food menu looked great, and I wished I had more time to have tried it as well. Overall great stop.
Jack Black Butcher Block Pale Ale - South African Craft Beer Tasting
I tasted the Jack Black Butcher Block Pale Ale and wow! I'm impressed!
It's an American Pale Ale with cascade hops and a nice malty backbone. The Jack Black brewing company has a good reputation for quality and this beer doesn't disappoint.
