What to do in BUENOS AIRES. Best City in South America? Travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina ????????
What should you do in Buenos Aires, Argentina? Well we visit Buenos Aires for the first time and found some absolutely amazing things to do in the city!
We start things off in the Japanese Gardens (Jardín Japonés)! These gardens are quiet and idyllic and feel like an oasis in the middle of the city, they also happen to be the largest gardens of their type outside of Japan.
Next up was a very famous place in Buenos Aires and must-do while in the city- La Recoleta Cemetery. This is considered one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world and contains the graves of some of the most famous and notable people in Argentinian history.
After this we headed to another super notable place in Recoleta, a very famous bookstore called El Ateneo Grand Splendid. Just like the cemetery, it is considered one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world- mainly because it’s situated in a former opera house. You can still see where the stage (now a coffee shop), and opera boxes were.
Lastly we head back to the area we stayed in called Palermo Hollywood to grab some drinks and food. Buenos Aires is full of interesting and diverse restaurants, not just asado which you might expect- but also loads of international foods. We found a place called KOI Beer and Dumplings where we had both beer and delicious dumplings.
ABOUT BUENOS AIRES
Buenos Aires is Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art.

GERMAN FOOD IN ARGENTINA! + Town Tour of VILLA GENERAL BELGRANO, Córdoba
Greetings from Villa General Belgrano! In today's video, we take you on a tour of this German town in the province of Córdoba, plus we also try German food at Blumen.
Villa General Belgrano is a mountainside town in the Calamuchita Valley in the Province of Córdoba that was founded by Germans in 1930 and soon attracted immigrants from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria. Today, the town has a distinct Alpine architectural style with wood-frame homes, and it's also managed to maintain its German culture, which is really visible through its food! Restaurants serve up German dishes and there are also lots of micro-breweries for those looking to sample the beer. This town also hosts the biggest Oktoberfest outside of Germany!
We ate at Blumen where we tried pork cutlet with mushrooms and gravy, chucrut (sauerkraut with bacon), boiled potatoes with parsley, caramelized apples and peas. We paired this with a blond beer and a red beer from the local Berlin brewery. For dessert, we went with a classic and tried the Apfelstrudel, which is a delicious a pastry stuffed with apples, nuts, raisins.
Guten appetit and we hope you enjoy our little walking tour through town!

GERMAN FOOD IN ARGENTINA! + Town Tour of VILLA GENERAL BELGRANO, Córdoba:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

The best of travel in Argentina! Let's explore this incredible country together.
Argentina Travel Guide | Best things to do in Argentina Travel Video Transcript:
Well, welcome to Argentina! This month Sam and I are exploring Buenos Aires the Argentinian capital. And this video is going to show you 50 things to do around the city.
Buenos Aires is one of our favorite cities in the world, so as soon as we arrived, we hit the ground running. In this guide we'll be visiting numerous neighborhoods including Recoleta, San Telmo, Boca and Palermo, while showcasing a mix of fun activities and main attractions. And since we're huge foodies, we'll also be introducing you to a few Argentine dishes you simply cannot miss. For anyone planning a trip to the capital, here are 50 things to do in Buenos Aires:
And that's a huge wrap for our Buenos Aires City Guide. We really enjoyed showing you around one of our favorite cities in the world, and we hope that this video offered a bit of inspiration in terms of things to do, foods to eat, and activities to try on your visit. As always, if you have any suggestions of other fun things to do in Buenos Aires, please feel free to share those in the comments section below. Until next time!
So good afternoon from the town of Cachi. Today we took a side trip from Salta. So we left really early in the morning. We were up at seven thirty and we drove through lots of different landscapes actually. Getting to Cachi involves going through jungle, desert, gorges. And there was a fourth one that our guide mentioned that I can't seem to remember at the moment. But either way it was really scenic. We just arrived at the town. We had a nice lunch. So yeah, we're going to go for a little tour I think.
So today we are taking a little bit of a day trip. We've left behind Villa General Belgrano and we're going to visit a little village called La Cumbrecita up in the Sierras. And this is where I went to school as a child. So it is going to be really fun walking around and showing you around.
So good morning from somewhere in the province of Salta. Today we're doing another day trip. So we left the city behind and we're driving towards a place called Cafayate. Right now we're just making a little pit stop. A little breakfast stop. So we just ate some alfajores, had some coffee. Oh, they were so good. So good. Double layer alfajores. Oh, yeah. There was so much dulce de leche on them. So yeah, we're just going to continue with the drive over and we're going to be stopping at a National Park to see some cool stuff.
Well, welcome to Germany. Or should I say the Germany of South America. Today we're visiting a town called Villa General Belgrano which has very German roots. Like walking around here you're almost feeling like you've been transported back to Bavaria. And this is a town that I'm very familiar with because I actually grew up in a local village that was only 30 minutes away from here. So we're going to be taking a little tour of the town. I'm excited to show Sam around. And maybe we'll try a few German delicacies. Some beer, pastries, who knows. We'll see what is on the menu.

Travel Argentina - Cafe Tortoni in Buenos Aires

Cafe Tortoni, it is probably the most favorite cafe in Buenos Aires. Located just steps away from Plaza Le Mancia, it is popular with tourists and coperanians. Cafe Tortoni was found in 1858 and named after a famous cafe in France, if you look carefully. Many of the tables in the cafe have plucks that are dedicated to famous writers that actually wrote on those tables.
I am Roberto Fanego, Manager of Cafe Tortoni. I have been here half a century. I lived the history of this Cafe. The works of art that part of the Cafe's history were all gifts from the writers and painters.
Cafe Tortoni was popular with intellectuals, politician and tango singers. This is Nobel price winning author Balkin Borges, then we have famous tango singer, Carlos Gardel and an Argentinian poet called Alfonsina Storni.
We have a photo of Borges speaking here and you can see me there listening. I still had hair back then. I enjoyed the company of the poets, musicians, and writers. I got to hear them speak.
Right now, I am in what used to be the barber shop of the cafe. Now, it is a museum. The walls are covered with art work and photographs relating the history of the cafe. At night Cafe Tortoni holds jazz and tango shows at the small theater at the back of the cafe. In the past famous tango Ochesteras played in that balcony. Here we have some hot chocolate made with a bar of real chocolate and the churros, which are an Argentinian delicacy, it is a pastry. If the hot chocolate was not enough for you, do not forget the chocolate cake.
Here is an interesting fact, the first legislative session held in Buenos Aires, was here in Cafe Tortoni in nineteen ninety seven. So, here we have a traditional Argentinian plate, it is called picada and it is full of olives, cheese, salami, ham, pickles and the cherries and it comes with cider or beer. Right now I have a cider, which is a great other option instead of beer. You could find this in any Argentinian restaurant but it is usually not so beautifully designed. I am Veronica de Aboitiz showing you Buenos Aires.

A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina
One of the most colorful and touristy areas you can visit in Buenos Aires is Caminito located in the heart of La Bocca Barrio (nieghborhood). Here you can enjoy overpriced meals, tango shows, souvenir shopping and people watching as you marvel at all of the colorful architecture. Nearby is where the Boca Juniors football club plays its home games. Overall, we feel it's worth a visit but is not an area you'd need to linger or return again.
A tour of La Boca Barrio (Caminito) in Buenos Aires, Argentina Travel Video Transcript:
So new vlog from Buenos Aires. Today we are visiting a neighborhood called La Boca. And it is know for its very colorful buildings and it is actually very touristy which means the prices here are quite high. Yeah, we just got absolutely fleeced for lunch. It was one of the most expensive meals we've had in South America and it was to be honest disgusting. But you know what we got charged one price for pasta and then like an extra five dollars for the tomato sauce. And then they charged us, with my parents, and they charged us like what like almost fifteen dollars for service. It was outrageous. Anyways, we're going to make the most of this afternoon and forget about that awful meal. Let's forget the meal and go sightseeing.
This tree has a knit sweater.
So to tell you a little bit about the neighborhood. It was settled by Italian immigrants and this area is in the southeast end of the city and it is right at the mouth of the river and that is how Boca gets its name. Boca, means mouth. Um, and yeah, there are a few streets that are very touristy; however, if you wander away from Caminito and that general area it is a little rough around the edges so we're going to try and show you both sides. Touristy Boca and regular old Boca.
So right now this is touristy Boca. Lots of restaurants. You can watch Tango shows on the street. Yes, you can pose and pretend to be a tango dancer. Yes, you can pose with football players who looks like famous football players. Yeah, there is a guy who looks like Maradona. And he even has a beer belly just like him. Impressive! And you can also buy souvenirs. There is a flea market around here and also just lots of souvenir shops. You can lighten the load of your wallet. A great place to do that.
So Sam, you don't really follow football but can you tell us who you are standing next to? I don't follow football but I know enough that is Maradona. The only and only. Maradona!
Little anecdote for us. Yes, one of the funniest comments we've had on our YouTube channel recently was during our Cholitas wrestling match. Someone said the referee looked just like Maradona. And now that I'm seeing Maradona statues all over the place and impersonators. That was a very very clever observation. He totally did. He totally looked like Maradona.
And now for a spin around less touristy Boca. Yeah. No crowds here. It's a lot quieter. A lot quieter, we're just walking along the rail-tracks. We're actually heading towards the stadium. Yes, because football is a big deal here. This is where Boca Juniors comes from. And, oh, they love their futbol. Yes, they do.
And we came all the way to Boca to meet Messi. Number 10.
So for the hardcore football fans another cool thing you can do in Buenos Aires is visit the Boca Juniors stadium. It is called La Bombonera and that means the chocolate box. I don't really think it looks like a chocolate box. I mean it is this giant yellow stadium. A colorful chocolate box. But yeah, it is right over there. So let's go check it out.
Final thoughts. Boca! Boca! Okay. I've been to Boca once before and I think one visit is probably enough. I mean, once you've seen the touristy bits there isn't a whole lot to do in my opinion. Um, so yeah nice for like half day visit I'd say. Maybe have a meal but not in the main road or you'll get ripped off. A one time only deal. One time only. I agree with you. I totally agree with you. Yeah. Yep. Okay. Good!

Drinking Argentinian Wine with Friends in Buenos Aires Travel Video Transcript:
Wine tasting!
So it is our last night in Buenos Aires and we are hanging out with two of our friends Kristin and Steve. And we actually just finished filming a video of our dinner. We had some steak with Steve, so you can see that video on his channel.
He's already had a few drinks in case you can't tell. But we figured let's take the after party over to our apartment. So we've bought some local Argentine wine.
And now it is dessert time and wine.
We needed something a little bit sweet to go along with the wine. So this is our dessert today. We are having Queso y Dulce. So that is basically cheese with three different types of sweets. Is he drinking behind the scenes? Hahahaha.
Anyways, let's have a quick look here. So we are having membrillo which is quince, batata which is sweet potato and zapallo which is pumpkin. And the most important thing is this is your first time to try it.
It is now time to rate the wine.
So okay. We started with the Merlot from 2012. Which was on the shelf of the 2014. Just to point it out. So, okay here comes the Merlot. Oh, it was the bread one. I remember it is the bread wine. I have it in my nose now. Oh, it is a very nose-y wine.
So it smells like bread. It tastes like bread. It tastes a bit like bread. But um, it is not too shabby. It is a solid wine. It is not too sweet but it gets you drunk. All the wines do but this one. It is a good wine. A solid one. I would not say it is 1st place. No.
Next one is Benjamin. Rose. Rose. Benjamin. It is still like drinking canned peaches. Canned peaches. The sugary one. It gets the job done but maybe I'll have a horrendous hangover tomorrow. We're not supposed to think about that right now, right?
From like four. The white wine we are saving that for later. We're just going to say that was an average one. And we're moving on to this one. The Cafayate Malbec.
So we did this whole trip like two months in Patagonia so we were going down from Buenos Aires, where we are right now, flying into Bariloche crossing into Chile going down the Carretera Austral, doing some crazy adventures there, going back into Argentina to El Chalten to do hikes there and then Torres del Paine to finish this whole thing up. And this is actually the thing we did. The whole video series about adventures in Patagonia which is about to come out on my channel soon. And what is the name of your channel. BackPacker Steve. Yes. Backpacker Steve. The footage is amazing. Like it is incredible. Drone footage, high quality and us. And the two of you. That is a winning combo.
Guys I write a travel blog Be My Travel Muse dot com which is geared towards solo travelers in general but especially adventurous women or want to be adventurous women who want to try something new and challenge themselves. I've written a book about how you can travel on your own and I also have a budding YouTube channel so check out Be My Travel Muse and subscribe. Bye!
Bedtime. Ciao Argentina! The wine is so good. And now we're going to go catch a flight tomorrow. And we're out of here. That's it.
This is part of our Travel in Argentina series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Argentine culture, Argentine cuisine, Argentine food, Argentinian food & Argentinian cuisine.

Hey guys, this is my second of five vlogs from Buenos Aires, Argentina. We started our day off with breakfast at Cabildo. They don't skimp on servings here, portions are perfect for sharing. After breakfast we took a short cab ride over to Puerto Madero. Weather was perfect for a stroll over el Puente de la Mujeres. This is a beautiful part of the city with restaurants and shops along the riverbank of Río de la Plata (River Plate). After a nice cold beer, we made our way over to the Plaza de la Republica to see El Obelisco de Buenos Aires (The Obelisk) and from there we caught another taxi to the Recoleta neighborhood. Here we strolled through this elegant neighborhood, walked through the Recoleta Cemetary Park and church, and had dinner at the one of the classic establishments of this neighborhood, La Biela. We ended the night with ice cream at Freddo's. I hope you guys like this vlog, feel free to comment down below.

The place gained great notoriety in the mid-1920s when it was frequented by a mix of writers, painters, musicians, poets, journalists, philosophers, inventors, and other creative minds.
Today it's a must-visit cafe for visitors passing through Buenos Aires.
Where are we? Well for today's meal we are at Café Tortoni. Which is one of the oldest and most famous cafeterias in the whole city. I think locals would probably tell you this is very touristy, because it is only tourists with their cameras sitting in here, but regardless it is a place I think you should visit. Like the architecture is really cool. The furniture is kind of like frozen in time. And also they make a pretty good hot chocolate. That's what I've got right here. I ordered chocolate con churros. Let me use this other hand. Let me use my strong hand...hahaha
That is a big thing of coffee. Is that cream beside it too? Yeah and I got frothy milk on the side. But look at how thick that is. There is like some chocolate chunks in there.
And I ordered that with churros. Which is kind of like a long strip of dough that has been deep-fried. Yeah, it is kind of like a deep-fried Spanish doughnut. Yeah, and it has granulated sugar sprinkled on top. And they've put a lot in here. And of course, you have to dip it in the chocolate. It has to be done. It is the only way to go. That is my lunch today guys. Hot chocolate. Healthy.
Mmmmm. That is good. I almost wish you could use this as a straw to drink the hot chocolate.
But this is actually one of their specialties here. They have two specialties of the house. One is called leche merangada which we've ordered. But this is really good. I can see why it is one of the suggested dishes. So yeah, look at that. Look at how is soaks up the chocolate. It is like a sponge inside. Like a thick sponge. Mmmm.
And I've gone for the tostada. And that is basically a sandwich that has tomato, ham and cheese. And it is like a grilled cheese sandwich. Yeah, but this is premium because of the ham. Yeah, so it is usually just ham and cheese but this one is called tostada Tortoni just because they've added the tomato.
So we also ordered something called leche merengada because it is one of their other specialties here. But from the description I thought it was going to be milk that tastes like meringue. But that looks like ice cream. Yeah, it does. It looks like there is cinnamon sprinkled over it. Ooh.
So it should taste like meringue unless they've mixed up our order. And we wouldn't know.
Yeah, it is kind of like ice cream. Is it meringue flavored ice cream? Yeah, it is. Okay, and the cool thing is that there is so much cinnamon put on top. And I mean I love cinnamon. I can smell it from here. From across the table.
And that came with a little wafer. I'm going to get another bite with my spoon.
So yeah it is a pretty cool place to stop for a little snack. I can see why that is the house specialty. I'm guessing that is homemade. Definitely tastes homemade.
Okay, so we've polished everything off. Yes, except for the milk because we don't want to dilute our chocolate. And here is the bill.
It came to 299 and that included the chocolate churros, the balon which is the beer, the merengada which is the ice cream and tostada tortoni which of course was the sandwich. So that is a little bit pricey. Touristy prices here. But you know what still not that bad. That is like $20 US dollars for four items on the menu. Yeah, and you're paying for the ambiance. Yes, you are.
