A Cambodian Bee Brood Vendor in Siem Reap
A short clip of a woman selling Apis dorsata brood comb at a wholesale market in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Gateway to Angkor Wat...
All too many Giant Honeybee colonies are being plundered in Cambodia, by traditional and opportunistic honey-hunters, in order to make a quick 'buck'. Bee brood is consumed here as food, and is seen far-too regularly in local markets to give any hint that the practice is sustainable; and it's a crying shame--because honey-hunters are cutting off the very hands that feed them!
