VIENNA, visiting the beautiful monument for MOZART, AUSTRIA
SUBSCRIBE: - Mozart's monument in Vienna, Austria. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791, was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. Born in Salzburg, Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria, and one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primary city, with a population of about 1.8 million (2.6 million within the metropolitan area, nearly one third of Austria's population), and its cultural, economic, and political centre.
Austria is a German-speaking country in Central Europe, characterized by mountain villages, baroque architecture, Imperial history and rugged Alpine terrain. Vienna, its Danube River capital, is home to the Schönbrunn and Hofburg palaces. It has counted Mozart, Strauss and Freud among its residents. The country’s other notable regions include the northern Bohemian Forest, Traunsee Lake and eastern hillside vineyards.

Vienna - Beethoven's Grave
This is but a starter . There was much to see and do in this Austrian City of dreams and music .Getting there showed me how easy it is from Berlin . It allowed me to pay tribute to some of my favourite composers and to
Friedrensreich Hundertwasser . A man who gave the world so much creative architecture .The down side to Vienna for me was the heavy smoking everywhere , even though there is an EU no smoking ban .
Not to worry McDonalds saved me and this too was an experience. Sunday was amazing and a good to be alive day plus .I ate breakfast in Vienna , was taken to the airport , travelled with AirBerlin to TXL , took my bag home , freshened up , and was in Potsdamm for an organ concert . Then ate out at a rather wonderul Austrian /German restaurant where the no smoking rule applied...... Pretty good fun .
Note there is a Picasa error on one shot .... Like Hundertwasser I let this stand ..... accept it please :-)

Central Cemetery Vienna (Austria) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Central Cemetery Vienna in Austria.
Vienna’s Central Cemetery is an evolving sanctuary of both peace and faith that was established during the reign of Emperor Franz Josef The First. A special committee was made responsible for this project, and where it would be sited, and several municipalities that were not part of Vienna at the time, were considered, geologically, by size, and distance to the city. Finally, Kaiserbersdorf prevailed and on 22nd December, 1869, the committee approved the purchase. The tombs of Beethoven and Schubert are to be found in the cemetery along with those of Johann Strauss, king of the waltz, surrounded by angels with violins. Brahms ponders, with beard and solemn expression while Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart makes a nominal appearance as he is buried at the Saint Marx Cemetery. From the main gate a wide avenue leads to the mighty Memorial Church that is dedicated to Saint Borromaus. On May 11th, 1908, the foundation-stone ceremony for the construction of the church took place. Its architecture and interior is similar to that of Vienna’s Steinhof Church. The historical architecture of the building, also known as the Karl Lueger Memorial Church after the former mayor of Vienna, is one of the most important art nouveau buildings in Vienna. Vienna’s Central Cemetery is the final resting place for those of all religions, situated in a beautiful park with impressive flora and fauna: the splendid Necropolis of the Viennese!
