Mecca Masjid: Oldest mosque in Hyderabad
Makkah Masjid is a listed heritage building in the old city of Hyderabad, close to the historic landmarks of Chowmahalla Palace, Laad Bazaar, and Charminar.
Mecca Masjid, also Makkah Masjid, is one of the oldest mosques in Hyderabad in India, And it is one of the largest Mosques in India. It is located in the common capital area shared between the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, commissioned bricks to be made from the soil brought from Mecca, the holiest site of Islam, and used them in the construction of the central arch of the mosque, thus giving the mosque its name. It formed the centerpiece around which the city was planned by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah.

Spanish mosque in hyderabad history , Beautiful Mosque in india مسجد
The mosque was built by the Paigah noble, Sir Vikhar-ul-Umra Iqbal-ud-Dowla, in 1906. It is believed to be the only one of its kind in India, with pointed arches, a pointed main roof composed of two truncated octagonal pyramids placed one above the other intervened by octagonal domes. The minarets aesthetically placed at corners of the parapet are in the same style and very unusual from those seen in other mosques in the city and elsewhere. It is difficult to miss from the flyover opposite the old Begumpet Airport

Addressing a gathering at the historic Mecca Masjid here after the Friday prayers, Rouhani said the opening of Iran's Chabahar port to India will provide a gateway to Afghanistan, Central Asia and Europe. Iran is rich in oil and natural gas resources. It is ready to share its natural resources with India for its development and progress, he said.During his 15-minute address in Persian, heard with rapt attention by over 5,000 people, Rouhani called upon Muslims around the world to shed differences and unite against the common enemy of Islam. He said had Muslim nations been united, America would not have dared to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. It is the most famous building of Hyderabad and also one of the most famous buildings in India. It was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shahi to celebrate the end of a deadly plague. The Charminar lies near the bank of the river Musi. It is close to Laad Bazaar and Makkah Masjid. Charminar is taken from two words Char and Minar which translate as Four Towers in English.
