Belfast Cookery School - Cookery Classes Belfast - NI
The Belfast Cookery School in Castle Street Belfast is a fantastic place to visit. One of the best things to do in Belfast. Perfect for a great night out, a fun date or simply because you love great food (
The cookery school offers cookery classes in Belfast, gives participants the opportunity to watch a demonstration from a professional chef - ask questions and then prepare and cook the ingredients themselves. If you ever wanted to learn to cook then this is the ultimate experience for you! (
All ingredients are locally sourced even down to their cooking oil - so just amazing Belfast food! So whether you fancy lunch in Belfast, Dinner in Belfast, or a Belfast brunch why not book yourself on a cookery lesson to learn how to make the ultimate 3 course meal!
Every business or project starts with a dream and Belfast Cookery School also started with the dream of evoking the passion for cooking in those who have never tried to cook before or those who have always considered it not much of a fun thing, it also started as some kind of appreciation for the great food and sharing the recipes along with people. (
There are different classes offered by the Cookery School of Belfast which you will choose from according to what you love the most and what you actually want to learn; there is the Asian class, the Indian, the International, the desserts, as well as other cuisines which the professional chefs working at the place will teach you.
Our experience in the place was actually a very good one because we learned to make a dish with broccoli and chicken and we also baked bread and the surprising thing was that they actually tasted good :-) So we went back home with a new dish learned, a new baking recipe tried, and a stomach that is full because we were the ones to eat what we have cooked at the end.
You will never enjoy a cooking class with a chef who is not helpful and not giving you the friendly feeling that you want to receive; this was not the case with Belfast Cookery School because we truly enjoyed learning the recipe and cooking it especially with the help that was offered from the chef along with the assistance tips and the answers given to our questions - we had lots of questions!
In addition to the professional chefs who were responsible for teaching us, the place is totally equipped, giving the students the chance to feel at their own kitchen and using their own things. The place is equipped and prepared to fit up to 16 students, giving every single one of them a cooking station like a personal kitchen along with the ingredients which that person is going to use, the equipment, as well as the utensils.
At the beginning of the class, you will get introduced to the chef who will be accompanying you through it all. The chef will then inform you with the dish that you are going to prepare along with him and will offer the ingredients as well as the tips which you will need to follow - providing you with a written paper to keep following afterwords - and the final stage will be bringing your magic on and follow the tips which you will use to bring the dish out to life.
Yes, cooking is a talent, some people have it naturally with trying out new recipes and dishes, while others will need those professional chefs to awaken this talent by using the right techniques in teaching and showing them how easy, fun, and interesting it is to cook something and join a school that will be responsible for teaching them - which is exactly the same thing we have faced in Belfast Cookery School.
There are lots of things that one could do in Belfast and a lot of different places that tourists could go to ( Belfast Cookery School might not be one of suggestions you could receive but we actually recommend it because you could choose a class that will teach you an Irish dish, get some fun time apart from all the touristic places you head to, and also have dinner at a different place with the person you are travelling with.
There are different places to visit for food and drinks in Belfast which we could recommend; you could try the Havana Bank Square Restaurant which we definitely enjoyed and which is perfect for lunch, dinner, or having a cocktail ( and there is also the Cuffs Bar and Grill in Crumlin Gaol which you could visit as a place to eat at and at the same time enjoy the place which is now considered a touristic area (
This school is really different with its classes and chefs and since we enjoyed the meal we have prepared, we are definitely thinking about coming back for another recipe - maybe we could then learn a recipe for a dessert!
It was good coming back home with a new recipe learnt; have you ever been to the cooking school in Belfast?

Ulster Fry: Northern Irish Full Breakfast in Belfast, Ireland Travel Video Transcript:
Breakfast time in Belfast! So since we've been in Ireland my favorite meal has been breakfast. And it's been a full Irish breakfast. We're now in Belfast and over here it is called an Ulster Fry. It's slightly different from an Irish breakfast which we'll explain later. But it is a very complete breakfast, it has a lot of different things including bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, tomatoes and a whole bunch of other stuff which we'll show you in a bit.
It is time for a grand tour of the meal. Breakfast has arrived. So we've got soda and potato bread over here. We've got our fried egg. We've got something that resembles a hash-brown. We've got our sausage, our bacon and of course our beans. So that is a very complete meal. Yeah. I hope you're hungry. Yeah, we sure are.
So what I find really unique about the Ulster Fry is that you get potato bread and soda bread which are breads that I've never really tried before. But they are quite nice and compact. Very heavy. You know, you're getting your carbs in early in the morning.
It looks quite thin but it is really heavy. Starchy.
And then this is the soda bread. I'm not really sure if you're supposed to put butter and jam on it since it is more of a savory bread but it is really good on its own.
So my favorite part is the sausage. And what I like to do is dip it in with the beans. And I think they call them rashers here. Yeah, they are called rashers. Sam eating rashers.
Mmmm. How are they? That's awesome. Mmmmmm.
Something that I love about the Ulster Fry and Irish Breakfast is that you can pick it up almost any time of day. We typically have it for breakfast but if you get a craving for it at night you can pop into a restaurant that specializes in the dish and you can have yourself some.
And to wrap things up how about the price point? Okay, so we got this breakfast in downtown Belfast and paid 4 Pounds and 50 Pence which I think is pretty decent. And I imagine if you get it out in the suburbs it might be a little bit cheaper because this does look like a really popular place.
This is part of our Travel in Northern Ireland series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Irish culture, Irish arts, Irish foods, Irish religion, Irish cuisine and Irish people.

Deanes Meatlocker in Belfast City Centre for the Best Steak
Are you searching for a really good restaurant where you could eat the best juicy steak out there? We have been at the same place while trying to find the best restaurants in Belfast until we came upon Deanes Meatlocker in Belfast City Centre and tried their perfect steak out there.
While trying to bring you the most beautiful restaurants to be found in Belfast - and help the locals as well as tourists to know where to eat - Michelle stumbled upon this restaurant and she not only ordered her plate and enjoyed it, but she also got the chance to have a talk with the chef who gave her some good tips - shared with you in the video!
The choice of food might differ from one person to the other but we should all agree that when it comes to steaks then those juicy medium done ones are considered the favorite for lots of people and that is why we definitely recommend Deanes Meatlocker as one of the best in making this type of steak.
As a tourist, choosing the restaurant will happen haphazardly, according to the one you come across when you are at the peak of your hunger, and since the city centre of the city is where most of the touristic locations and landmarks are situated, it is definitely a recommended place to head to because that will also be in the same area.
According to the chef of Deanes Meatlocker, there is one important tip which we brought back to our homes and to our followers; when you cook any type of meat out there, you should let it rest for about 20 or even 30 minutes because that would bring it more juicy and it would be even easier for you to chew - you might be just like us and you might have never let that rest at home, once done, immediately in the stomach :-)) so next time let it rest.
We were asking ourselves - and the chef - one important question: will we ever be able to cook the same juicy steak we got at the Deanes? And we both knew the answer; we most probably will never reach this same level and bring a good steak as this one we received in the restaurant, it is prepared in a totally different way that is mixed with love and passion for what is being done in addition to the actual cooking spices that the restaurant tends to use.
The passion we received from the chef while speaking about food and cooking made us believe that it really helps in bringing the best dishes out there. Deanes Meatlocker is one of the oldest restaurants to be found in Belfast City Centre, it has been there for almost 20 years or something and this should be enough to prove that it can truly bring the best dishes out there with the help of the chefs who work in the place.
The chef told us that the first important step in preparing such a steak as the one he served us is to source the best piece of meat that is found out there and which would suit that person's pocket money; it doesn't have to cost them a fortune in order to end up with a good meal at the end, but the most important thing is to know the source of that meat which you are eating in the end. To move forward with cooking, the piece of meat should be found in a room temperature place with cooking it in a hot pan and cook it with oil and butter until it starts to come to that brown color that you prefer. Bringing the steak after cooking either well done or medium done will always differ from one person to the other and there is no right or wrong way in cooking your meat, you just have to follow the initial steps and bring your favorite steak out.
Deanes Meatlocker is definitely now one of the restaurants in Belfast City Centre which we would recommend for all those searching for a place to have their favorite perfect steak and it now stands as one of our top favorite. There are other restaurants also located in Belfast which people could choose from and which Michelle also managed to bring some reviews about (
It is not just about the best restaurants to eat at but sometimes even sitting with your friends or by yourself to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and have a dessert to eat along is considered the most important part of the day for some people and those are the ones who should know about the best cafes in Belfast ( and know which one they are supposed to choose and try - if not trying them all :-))!
Finally, coming to the last part of these recommendations which we would carry for the tourists and the locals of Belfast, Northern Ireland, there are also those perfect bars which some of them might be even old enough and carry the history that would make you more eager to visit the place, have something to drink, and get to know more about its history (
We love trying things out and bring those recommendations back to you and wait for your opinions and feedback!
