Leeds ( (listen)) is a city in West Yorkshire, England.Leeds was a small manorial borough in the 13th century, and in the 17th and 18th centuries it became a major centre for the production and trading of wool, and in the Industrial Revolution a major mill town; wool was still the dominant industry, but flax, engineering, iron foundries, printing, and other industries were also important.

The Brunswick Opens in Leeds - with exhibition from IAM Collective
The City Centre of Leeds is ever growing with special independent hubs cropping up all around. At the tip of the Northern Quarter, right by renowned favourite on North Street, the Reliance, is a new exciting bar popping in as a go-to destination - The Brunswick.
Great beer, food, art, and music across 3 floors, we had to give it a check out in its first few days, and were pleased to see an artistic favourite of ours, IAM Collective, adorning the upstairs gallery with many delights.
Have a glimpse into this magical space.

Leeds Music 2013: The Cockpit Futuresound Competition
Filmed during HEAT 14 of the Futuresound competition, various band members and staff discuss the venue and competition. Ben Lewis who works as a promoter for Futuresound, explains that the yearly Futuresound competition’s aim is for the six selected winning bands, from the fifteen heats, to play at the Leeds & Reading Festivals. Five of the winning bands will play on the BBC Introducing Stage and the overall winner plays on the Festival Republic Stage. The Cockpit opened in 1994 and Ben says “It’s been one of the most cult venues in Leeds” and “it’s quite an iconic place”. Rob Rhodes from Red Chevrons states “Being in an unsigned band, to get to The Cockpit, it’s quite good to play there, one of the venues you wanna play in Leeds really”. Sam Smith from Andy Doonan admits “It’s not a decent place to gig, the sound is horrific, it bounces everywhere but you’ve got the reputation”. Olly Corpe from King’s Parade says “No venue is like The Cockpit though, it’s really kind of an honour to be here, The Cockpit is kind of this legendary venue”.
