BELIZE IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK! SCUBA DIVING - Caye Caulker, Belize, Blue Hole 2019 - 4K
Hey buddies! Belize is not what you think! If you're not part of the SCUBA diving community, you've probably heard a lot of things (or very few) about Belize - not likely good ones. It is indeed a place with many challenges in terms of their economy and social services. But it's not all bad! In fact, they have a LOT of absolutely gorgeous natural wonders, some of which that you'll get to see in our video. We spent our time in wonderful Caye Caulker (pronounced Key Cocker) and this place magical. The island slogan is GO SLOW! and not only do they live it, but they'll make sure you adjust to the local speed even when walking on their streets. Come with us to see this place from above and Anda de Wata! Join us into the Great Blue Hole

HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF:
I stayed at Bella's Backpackers which I would recommend.
The tour was organised by a guy called Steve who did not have an office but wondered the island offering his services! Almost all snorkelling tours in Caye Caulker however should provide a very similar experience so there is no way you can miss out! Tours average around $80 for the day.
The easiest way to travel to Caye Caulker is by Ferry from Belize City - takes about 40 minutes.

SCUBA DIVING BELIZE | Ambergris Caye and Placencia | travel vlog 2019
SCUBA diving in Belize in a highlight of both the Caribbean and tourism in Central America. While the jungles attract a lot of tourists, Belize is also home to the second largest barrier reef in the world. It has so many incredible experiences for those who love to dive or snorkel. For this SCUBA diving adventure travel vlog I teamed up with PADI, a world famous diver training organization, and William Drumm, a talented underwater photographer.
We started the trip by taking a small plane from Belize City to San Pedro in Ambergris Caye. Here, we met up with Ramon's Village Resort and dove Hol Chan Marine Park, as well as many of the beautiful coral channels that snake through the reef. Highlights here for us were Nurse Sharks, Loggerhead Sea Turtles, and even an Octopus
Unfortunately our dive to The Great Blue Hole was cancelled due to weather, but ended up seeing a Bottlenose dolphin underwater close to the reef. Not a bad replacement.
Next was taking another plane from San Pedro to Placencia to meet Patricia at SPLASH dive centre to dive at Silk Caye. We island hopped, saw the underwater goddess statue, and trekked through Cockscomb Basin.
Hope you Enjoyed this SCUBA diving travel vlog in Belize!

BEAUTIFUL Caye Caulker, Belize
BEAUTIFUL Caye Caulker, Belize
A 7 day visit to Caye Caulker was just what we needed to relax, scuba dive, and explore. There are no paved rides and bicycles are the main option for getting around. If you love animals, this is the place for you! All the kitty and puppy love you can stand on a tropical island. Scuba diving was lovely! The coral was healthy and life was abundant. If you get the chance, go check this island out! Music provided by local resident Gregory Michael. Also, don't forget the tarpon feeding. A cheap thrill! Places to eat include: Ice N Beans, Chef Kareem's, Namaste Cafe, Southside Pizza, La Cubana, Errolyn's Fry Jacks, and so many more! Belize Diving Services was great. Their boats were nice and spacious and all equipment was clean and new. Lighthouse Atoll, San Pedro, and Turneffe Atoll were our stops. We loved all for different reasons. Lots of Reef Sharks and Nurse Sharks! Keep your eye out for the Red and Purple Sea Goddess Nudibranch! Our Dive master found some, which is not an easy task! Be careful with street food. Sometimes it does not sit well! I would recommend this island to all of my scuba friends!

Snorkeling at Mexico Rocks at the island of Ambergris Caye Belize
When we were on the island of Ambergris Caye in Belize, we booked a tour with Belize Parasail Plus on their pontoon boat to do some snorkeling. Victor and Brian who picked us up from the dock at the place we were staying at and took us to Mexico Rocks which has to be one of the best snorkeling spots I have ever been to! We felt like we were pretty much the only people there and the water was warm and crystal clear! Most perfect day out on the water! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Caye Caulker Belize Scuba Diving
No Shirt, No Shoes…No Problem.' You'll see this sign everywhere in Belize, but no place is it more apt than Caye Caulker. Indeed, nothing seems to be a problem on this tiny island, where dogs nap in the middle of the dirt road and suntanned cyclists pedal around them. The only traffic sign on the island instructs golf carts and bicycles to 'go slow,' a directive that is taken seriously.
Local residents have traditionally made their living from the sea, specifically from the spiny lobsters and red snapper that inhabit its warm waters. It has also long been a budget traveler's mecca, but in recent years, tourists of all ages and incomes have begun to appreciate the island's unique atmosphere.
On Caye Caulker, there are no cars, no fumes and no hassles, just balmy breezes, fresh seafood, azure waters and a fantastic barrier reef at its doorstep. The easygoing attitude is due in part to the strong Creole presence on the island, which pulses to a classic reggae beat and is home to a small community of Rastafarians.
While the increase in visitors has resulted in more construction and a strain on the islands fledgling infrastructure, the surrounding nature remains both accessible and enthralling.
The island is an ideal base for snorkeling and diving adventures at the nearby reef. The northern part of the island – a tempting destination for kayakers – is mostly mangroves, which are home to an amazing variety of birdlife. Other than that, all visitors should be sure to schedule in plenty of time for swinging in a hammock and enjoying the breeze (which is indeed a legitimate activity on Caye Caulker).

Diving Caye Caulker Belize - Blue Hole 1 of 2
My pal Simon from the UK and I dove the Blue Hole with Belize Diving Services out of Caye Caulker. This was our second dive of three that day. March 2012.
