Lower Bells Canyon Waterfall Little Cottonwood Canyon Utah
The Lower Bells Canyon Waterfall is a spectacular waterfall and a must see during the spring, summer, and fall months. The trail head for the Lower Bells Canyon Waterfall is located at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. From the trail head the first point of interest is the Bells Canyon Reservoir. This reservoir is a great place to take the entire family as the hike to the reservoir is only about a 20 minutes. It's also a great place to rest, hydrate, and get ready for the hike to the falls.
From the reservoir you're going to follow a service road to the Bells Canyon Trail Head sign. The lower portion of the trail makes its way through grassy flats with little elevation gain. Once you make your way across the foot bridge this is when the elevation gain to the falls kicks in.
The trail is rocky and requires a little maneuvering over and around the boulders. On our hike the trail was dry, but we have heard that early in the season during runoff the trail becomes a small stream. Once at the falls you cannot mistake the roar of the water plunging over the falls. The decent to the base is fairly steep so use caution. This location is beautiful and offers picturesque scenery of not only the falls but the Salt Lake Valley as well. In the early spring the wildflowers are in full bloom and the falls will be roaring with spring runoff making this time of year a great time to visit.
No matter what time of year you visit this beautiful location please use caution as there have be many people that have been injured and even killed while visiting the Lower Bells Canyon Waterfall.
Trail Stats:
The trail head is located ¼ mile from Wasatch Blvd. and the 9800 South Intersection.
From this trail head the hike to the lower falls is approx 4.6 miles round trip.
Elevation gain is approx 1,310 ft
Hiking time is 4 to 5 hours
I consider this trail moderate to strenuous at times.
See you on the trail!

First Waterfalls Bell Canyon Trail Utah
This hike runs up Bell Canyon, past a scenic reservoir, and up to a beautiful waterfall. Along the way you get majestic views of the Salt Lake Valley. The stream here flows over a series of waterfalls. The first is the most impressive, and the destination of our recommended hike. The trail becomes considerably more strenuous as you proceed beyond that point.

Hey guys
I decided to go on a little stroll before work. Was not disappointed! This was an amazing hike. It also goes up another 3 miles I think to another waterfall and reservoir. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go all the way to the 2nd set of waterfall/reservoirs. But I will come back to conquer that part of the canyon!
Thanks for watching!

Bear Canyon Bridge Trail Guide, Sandy, Utah
3 bridges, a boulder tunnel, a waterfall, mountain and urban views, this hiking trail has something for everyone!
This trail has a few different entry points from the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST). Actually, the BST is the only trail you really need to follow if you want to go on the suspension bridge shown in the title screen. However, if you want to see the waterfall and a smaller bridge, then an extra climb is needed.
The trailhead as shown on alltrails starts in Hidden Valley Park in Sandy (South of Salt Lake City), but when you get there, if you don't know the place, it can be a little tricky to find, mostly as you are not parking at a trailhead, but at the park itself. If you go to the far end of the parking lot toward the mountain (GPS marker is listed in the video), you will see a trail going up the hill, follow this paved path about .1 mile to the actual trailhead. This is the way started the trail. However, if you want to shorten it, go further down the paved path maybe .3-.4 mile til you can see a wide gravel path going up a hill, this will shorten your trail by about .5 mile probably. Walk up this hill, take a right at a set of steps and go down over a bridge, follow the BST Trail to a fenced area. If you go into this fenced area this is actually the Bear Canyon Loop which requires a climb up a few hundred feet incline then down over a bridge, where a small waterfall can be seen. However, if you are there with a dog, or just want to see the suspension bridge, then walk past the wooden gate to the Bear Canyon Loop, go straight and get to the bridge in a jiffy! There are map screen shots in the video trail guide that will help you with this hike.
There are other ways to get to this bridge- other trail entries from nearby neighborhoods, or maybe even if you are walking from the opposite direction on the BST.
Keep in mind there is a good chance to see mountain bikers as well as hikers on this trail.
This trail is also popular with families with small children as well as tourists and trail runners.

Bells Canyon Waterfall surrounded by Snow
I hiked about 2 to 3 miles up Bells Canyon to the waterfall where this video was taken. At the bottom there was no snow but as I gained elevation the snow got deeper to the point you would sink in up to your thighs.
