Beyond Marae Afareaito the road continues to climb steeply, winding its way up to the belvédère. This lookout offers superb views of Mt Rotui, which splits the two bays, and back to the towering mountains that rise in the centre of the island and which once formed the southern rim of the ancient crater.

See panoramic views of Moorea at Belvedere Lookout. With sights of Cook's Bay, Opunohu Bay, Mt. Totui, and the lush vegetation of Opunohu Valley, the viewpoint offers great photographic opportunities.
From sunrise to sunset, the extensive panorama takes in much of the island and its coastline.
Bring a picnic with you, or head to the souvenir and snack stand before heading further into the hills or making your way back down.
The point is easily accessible by car or on foot, as well as being a stop-off destination for a range of tour groups.

French Polynesia Vlog 3 - Belvedere Lookout in Moorea + Arriving in Bora Bora in 4K

On our last day to Moorea, we did a 4X4 tour. Despite the rainy weather, we enjoyed seeing Magic Mountain, the pineapple farms, the juice distillery, Belvedere lookout and the other stunning mountains of Moorea.

The following day, we took a 1h flight from Moorea to Bora Bora. I have no doubt the Bora Bora airport is the most beautiful airport in the world! We end the vlog with a tour of the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa. If you want to see a tour of our amazing overwater bungalow, you will have to wait till vlog 4 ;)

DRIVING TOUR of MOOREA | Part 3 | Belvedere Lookout and Tiki Parc

This video is Part 3 of our driving tour of Mo'orea. Just a short drive through 'Ophunohu Valley, with a quick glimpse of two locations: Belvedere Lookout (with a view of Mt. Rotui, 'Opunohu Bay and Cook's Bay), then driving on to Ranch 'Opunohu where the Tiki Parc is also located. For Belvedere Lookout, if you book an ATV tour on Mo'orea, there is no need to rent a car and drive to the lookout on your own, as the ATV Tours make a stop at Belvedere. If you do drive, the parking lot is small and gets full, but we only had to wait a few minutes to get a spot the day we drove there. Have some cash with you if you'd like to get some freshly cut coconut while you're enjoying the view. Also, be sure to bring bug repellent on any adventures that will take you in to the forests in Mo'orea.

Note: There area a lot of mosquitos in the wooded areas such as the Tiki Parc, archaeological site (see my other video), and the walking trail behind the parking lot at Belvedere Lookout, BUT as long as you come prepared with bug repellent you can enjoy the natural beauty without having to make a hasty exit to avoid being bitten. We don't like using the stuff so didn't use any our first day exploring (and we paid the price), so we learned our lesson and used some the rest of the trip and had no issues.
