Victoria's code red bushfire day sees emergency warnings issued as dust sweeps state | ABC News
It was a day of extreme conditions in Victoria that included the hottest November temperatures in more than 100 years.
More than 60 fires burnt across the state, fanned by winds of up to 130km an hour.

Air rifle bank robbery: California man sticks up Bank of America branch with pellet gun
A bank robber brandishing what turned out to be nothing more than an air rifle robbed an Orange County bank on Tuesday.
At around 3pm, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said Vu Hoan Le, 39, entered the Bank of America in Newport Beach. Le went up to a teller and brandished a weapon demanding money. He then fled the scene.
Law enforcement dispatched a helicopter unit to track the fleeing suspect. Le scaled an 8-foot wall as he ran from officers, but injured himself and was quickly taken into custody.
Deputies are investigating if Le was involved in other crimes in the area.

Robbery
On June 3rd, 2016 around 4pm officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at a convenience store in the area of 6500 E 21st St. The clerk stated that an unknown white male entered the store and approached the counter to make a purchase. He stated that when he opened the register the male pointed a gun at his head and demanded all the money from the register. He then exited the store and left the scene in a red extended cab Ford F150.
The individual is described as a white male approximately 28-34 years old, 5’7”- 5’10”, 175-190 pounds. He was wearing a green camo hat, red shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses. The clerk stated that the male had a noticeable limp.
Bank robbery hat trick: Man attempts to rob three Los Angeles banks in one hour - TomoNews
LOS ANGELES — A bank robbery suspect is still at large after attempting to rob three banks in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles in one hour on Thursday afternoon.
According to Canyon News, the man is described as being African-American, about 6-feet tall and around 50 years old. He started the attempted robbery spree around 1 p.m. at a Chase Bank, where he entered wearing a dark colored t-shirt, sweatpants and a ski mask. He was carrying a bag and handed the bank teller a note that said I am Marine trained and threatened the teller with the explosives he claimed to have in his bag.
For some reason he left empty handed. The same thing happened about 40 minutes later at a Bank of America location a few blocks away.
Then around 2 p.m., he entered a third bank, this time a Citibank located on Hillhurst Avenue. He gave the same note to the teller, who gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, KTLA reported. According to CBS Los Angeles, the FBI has clear images of the suspect, but the LAPD requested that the photos not be released pending further investigation.
