Living in the Yukon, Windy Day at Bennett Lake
One of my favorite places to go is Bennett Lake Beach at Carcross. It is ever changing depending on the time of year and the weather but is always beautiful. Because of the wide open space it is a great place to exercise the dog and since other people think so too, it is always a great place for my GSD Brooke to meet and play with other dogs. This weekend it was very windy and for the first time there were kite surfers on the lake, something I had never seen before and so cool :)
Bennett Lake, Yukon
The Gold Rush saw many ships and prospectors here on this Lake. A nice sandy beach here. Temp was around 20 C on May 24, 2012 when we were there.

Swan Haven Panoramic
We drove out early to avoid the crowds of visitors and did a day trip out the Swan Haven which is located on the shores of M'Clintock Bay on Marsh Lake. From Whitehorse, down the Alaska Highway south past the Lewes River Bridge to Marsh Lake. About 40 km south of Whitehorse.
It is just the beginning of the migration season, were we only saw about a dozen birds, but we met two nice dogs that escorted us down the ice covered beach, to some viewing chairs at the point of M'Clintock Bay.
In another few weeks thousands of trumpeter swans migrate through the Yukon. Residents and visitors alike flock to open waters at Marsh Lake to see the swans arrive and to watch them feed.
Kluane - Storm over Lake
This is a short clip of a storm on the other side of the lake in Kluane National Park, in Yukon Territory, Canada. I really wish this clip was longer, because it is a cool mood shot. It is from some video taken by my father, Harold, in 1990
Emerald Lake, Yukon Territories, Canada
This was the farthest North that we'd go on our voyage. Small lake to the West of the Klondike Highway. From here, we'd turn around and go back into Carcross.
