Benton Falls
Benton Falls is a beautiful waterfall that can be found in the Ocoee area of the Cherokee National Forest outside of Benton, Tennessee. Standing at 65 feet tall, this impressive falls is easy to get to. The hike is 1.5 miles and is relatively easy, except towards the end, where you have to walk down a set of stairs to reach the bottom of the falls. The trail head is located at Lake McCamey and is well maintained.
I filmed this with my GoPro Hero 3.

Exploring Cherokee National Forest, TN: Chilhowee Recreation Area / Benton Falls
Taking the Ocoee Scenic Byway up the mountain, we stopped at a number of overlooks, with Sugarloaf Mountain the stand out feature, before stopping at Chilhowee Recreation Area to hike to the fantastic 65ft Benton Falls. It's one of the most popular spots in the entire Cherokee National Forest, and easy to see why.

Hiking Benton Falls and Swim in McCamy Lake
Mark & Olivia’s Adventures Episode 13 Benton Falls Sugarloaf overview
Today’s adventure takes us to Cleveland Tennessee near Lake Ocoee
hike down to Benton Falls and dip into McCamy Lake on top of the Cherokee Forrest park
Benton Falls Trail is a 3.2-mile hike to the falls and starts by the swim area on McKamy lake. It is a 1.5-mile hike to the falls.
The trail is relatively level, especially when you consider how hilly the landscape is. I am not 100% sure, but it felt like the trail was mostly downhill to the falls. Keep an eye out for the BEARS, as the trail continues for miles and miles beyond the falls.
The recreation area is reached from Highway 64. Take Forest Road 77, which is about 7 miles east of the 64/411 intersection, and drive 7.5 miles to the recreation area. The drive itself is very pretty, with lots of scenic outlooks

Valley Cruise Press - Cool Pup Patch by Paul Windle
What’s good gang. Today we are checking out benton falls in Tennessee , which is part of the cherokee national forest. Its a nice day hike with multiple activities available to keep you busy for the whole day. The park includes campsites, overlooks, swimming, fishing, and trails that lead to the falls and around the lake. Trails vary distances depending on the amount of time one would like to hike. As for the trails they are well maintained which make them great for running to walking the pups. The only negative aspect about them is the way they are labeled because instead of trail names they use numerical labels for the trails . If you don’t snap a pic of the Traill list at the information board at the parking lot, navigating through the trails may prove to be more difficult due to having to remember numbers instead of trail names. Other than that, the park is a very nice place to experience. A good thing to know is that at times the falls are dry due to lack of rain, so plan accordingly and prepare for a different view than once perceived. Also make sure to take the long way up on the paved road since all the overlooks are on this road and not on the gravel road. The overlook with the rock/concrete guard rail that is close to the top would be the best spot to stop in my opinion since it incorporates all the lower outlooks. After this on stop, the gazebo overlook is also worth the stop since its a perfect spot to end the day with a vantage point to a sunset. The final aspect to note about this location is that its close to a bigger lake which leaves you with plenty of activities if you don’t plan on hiking all day. If this has been helpful like and share. Also leave more hikes in the comments down below and ill check them out.
