Berber Nomads | Todra Gorge & Dades Gorge in Morroco
Welcome to another part of our 3 weeks Morocco backpacking trip 2018.
After the desert trip, we made our way by taxi from Merzouga to Tinghir (600Dh 4 people) at 1230pm and reached by 330pm. Do check out our Erg Chebbi Desert video.
From there, we took another taxi from Tinghir to Todra Gorge which cost 8Dh each. Need 6 people but the 4 of us decided to pay 48Dh in total and made our way.
When we arrived in Todra Gorge, it felt like it was just the 4 of us. There weren’t a lot of tourists.
The next morning at 630am, we started the Todra Gorge Hike to find the Berber nomads in the mountains. The hike was relatively easy compared to other hikes we have done in the past.
Meeting the nomads have been one of the highlights of our Morocco trip. A feeling which we can’t quite describe. Recommended to do this hike early.
We returned back to our rooms by 1130am.
In Morocco , you must bargain the taxi fares before getting on. Watch our video for more information on how much we paid from Todra gorge to Dades gorge to Ourzazate.
Besides doing the touristy things in Morocco, visiting this part of Morocco is highly recommended.
Enjoy the video.

It pays to get the advice of locals. When we were offered to hire a local guide to take us through the Dades Gorges, we were hesitant at first, but since we knew so little about where to go, we said yes. That is one of the best decisions that we have made so far in this journey through Morocco.
