Bergen : Norwegian Fjords 2018
Our visit to Bergen, the first port of call on our Norwegian Fjords cruise with Royal Caribbean in August 2018.
We took the Fløibanen funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen, for impressive views across Bergen. We found some trolls in the troll forest, and an impressive playground.

Bergen is Norway's second largest city and lies by the mountain sides, overlooking the sea. It's located in Hordaland on the west coast of Norway.
Things to do in Bergen include:
-Visit Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf, old wharf & traditional wooden buildings that is also a UNESCO heritage site! Be sure to also see it at night, it's breathtaking with the lights and reflection.
-Hanseatic Museum
-Seeing the view from Mount Floyen by taking the Funicular (Floibanen)
-Seeing the Hardanger Fjord
-Strolling through the Bergen fish market
-Eating a delicious Norwegian hotdog at Trekroneren

Bergen is one of the most beautiful cities in Norway. It is also the rainiest. I think this city is beautiful no matter what. one of the best things to do in Bergen is to visit Fish Market. Travel to Norway to see amazing Norwegian fjords. One of the best things to do in Norway is to go hiking to Norwegian outdoors. Nature in Norway is amazing! There are so many beautiful places and Lysefjord is one of them. You can camp in Norway pretty much anywhere. Pic your the most beautiful place and put a tent. Many tourists visiting Norway come on cruise ships and stay in big cities and miss awesome beauty of Norwegian outdoors. Adventure travel is a big plus for tourism in Norway. Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, is located in the county of Hordaland. The population of Bergen is 256 507 (Jan. 2010). The city is located on the south-western coast of Norway with its center situated between a group of mountains known as de syv fjell (the seven mountains). The Video and still photos is taken during helicopter tours the 26th of August 10 and 23rd of August 09. Video is taken with my Canon 5D Mark II in full HD quality. I have also used my 5D for the still pictures in the video.

The video begins as I sail down Hjeltefjorden Fjord toward Bergen on the Sea Princess. Bergen is one of the wettest places in the world so the bright sunshine overhead was a nice bonus for this beautiful city. After docking near the city center I started my tour of the city. The first stop on the tour is Fløibanen, a funicular to the top of Mount Fløyen where there are spectacular views of the city. Fløibanen is Bergen's biggest tourist attraction and one of Norway's most visited sights. It is the only funicular cable car for passengers in Scandinavia. After descending from the mountain I explored the city center of Bergen on my own on foot. At the end of the video we set sail on the Sea Princess up the Byfjorden Fjord and under the Askøy Bridge away from Bergen.

I just got back from 6 months in Asia. Before heading home to my family in Florø, I made a quick stop in Bergen. I figured I could make this Bergen mini guide for you guys. Hopefully, it will give you a few useful tips if you make your way over here.
I honestly love Bergen, it’s my favorite city in Norway. There is so much to do there, but we just had two days, and this video is a summary of what we did.

Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. The city centre and northern neighbourhoods are located on Byfjorden, the city fjord, and the city is surrounded by mountains; Bergen is known as the city of seven mountains. Trading in Bergen may have started as early as the 1020s. According to tradition the city was founded in 1070 by king Olav Kyrre. It served as Norway's capital in the 13th century, and from the end of the 13th century became a bureau city of the Hanseatic League. Until 1789, Bergen enjoyed exclusive rights to mediate trade between Northern Norway and abroad and it was the largest city in Norway until surpassed by the capital city, Oslo, in the 1830s. The remains of the quays, Bryggen, is a World Heritage Site. The city was hit by numerous fires. (wiki)

Things to do in Bergen Norway: a Winter fjord cruise (subtitled)
One of the best things to do whilst in Bergen (in Winter) is go on a 'Norway in a Nutshell ®' cruise and the famous Flåmsbana Railway. The tour reveals stunning scenery that leaves one in no doubt as to why Norwegian Blue parrots - made famous by Monty Python - pine for the fjords. This short (tongue-in-cheek) film begins the journey at Bergen, travelling to Voss, past the Tvinnefossen waterfall, to Gudvangen and the beautiful Nærøyfjord, to Flåm and through the valley up towards Myrdal before heading back to Bergen - all in one day.
