Unfinished Church, Attraction In St George Bermuda
Construction of the Unfinished Church, a replacement for St Peters Church, began in 1874. Disagreements amongst the congregation, financial problems, and storm damage, meant it was never completed.
It is now one of the major attractions in St Georges Parish, located just north of the town of St George, on the way to Tobacco Bay.
The Unfinished Church is managed by the Bermuda National Trust.
Bermuda Perfumery - Bermuda Health & Beauty - on Voyage.tv
Visit for the best HD travel videos in the world.
Founded in 1928 in the picturesque town of St. George's, the Bermuda Perfumery is the place to purchase custom high-end fragrances. The location is as special as the scents: the shop is located in the 300-year-old Stewart Hall house, done in traditional island style of Bermuda wood and coral stone, and named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today the perfumers still use the same techniques in aromatic blending that they used nearly a century ago when the Perfumery was located in Bailey's Bay. Bottles are hand-filled individually by a dedicated staff, including David Botello, who has been the establishment's perfumer for the past 43 years. Step into this historic business and discover the unique South Water fragrance, made from coconut milk, guava and sea salt. Complex aroma charts outline a geneology of categories from which visitors can choose the family of scent they prefer, like Floral, Oriental, Wood and Chypre. Customers can create the perfumes of their dreams in cooperation with the Perfumery, combining complex scents that can include anywhere from 50 to 100 different ingredients. Head next door to Stewart Hall to the Perfumery itself, and learn how to concoct the perfect scents. First alcohol is infused into a combination of Bermuda cedar, sawdust and woodchips, and then left to soak for about 48 hours. During this process, the alcohol will extract the smell of the cedar, and once the mixture is strained, the remaining liquid will be blended with a solvent, rosemary oil and lavender to create a sophisticated cologne that will sit for a further three months. After a final filtration, the scents are bottled. When it comes to one-of-a-kind fragrances, the tried and true methods of Bermuda Perfumery are as unmatched as the results.

Bermuda sits far north of the Caribbean Sea -- about 650 miles off the coast of North Carolina -- but this archipelago of 120 islands and islets has a Caribbean soul. Blessed by the Gulf Stream, Bermuda's translucent waters and pinksand beaches rival those of more tropical climes.
Recreational opportunities abound in Bermuda. It's a mecca for scuba divers who flock here to explore more than 300 shipwrecks that dot the nearby reefs. Bermuda boasts eight golf courses; while many are private, visitors can often arrange to play them or take advantage of the public courses. Visit Bermuda's wealth of historic sights, especially the atmospheric town of St. George's and the Royal Naval Dockyard, a 19th century fortress featuring the Maritime Museum, the Commissioner's House and the Bermuda Arts Centre. Other island highlights are the Botanical Gardens, the Underwater Exploration Institute and the Crystal Caves.

BERMUDA, EXPLORING the cemetery for 'Slaves and Free Blacks' in St George
SUBSCRIBE: - St. Peter's Church in St. George, Bermuda is believed to be the oldest continually used Anglican church in the Western hemisphere. The original wooden church built 1612 was destroyed in a storm and replaced by the present church. Outside is a churchyard cemetery with a wall separating two graveyards. A walled area to the far west of the church was for slaves and free blacks while the one east of the wall was reserved for whites. The graveyard for slaves and free blacks is a significant site on the African Diaspora Heritage Trail of Bermuda which traces the legacy of Bermuda's slavery.
Bermuda is a British island territory in the North Atlantic Ocean known for its pink-sand beaches such as Elbow Beach and Horseshoe Bay. Its massive Royal Naval Dockyard complex combines modern attractions like the interactive Dolphin Quest with maritime history at the National Museum of Bermuda. The island has a distinctive blend of British and American culture, which can be found in the capital, Hamilton.

A TOUR THROUGH ROYAL NAVAL DOCKYARD - SANDYS PARISH - BERMUDA
