Bermuda Reef Explorer
Hi – I’m Captain Michael Gladwin and this is Bermuda Reef Explorer. I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy my love and passion for Bermuda’s waters over the past 35 years and am very cognizant of the important environmental concerns which face our world today. You can be sure I take this into consideration each and every time Reef Explorer sets out on a snorkel or glass bottom adventure. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of Bermuda during the time you are aboard with us. Whether or not you are a first-time visitor to the island I am sure you will want to plan your next vacation after experiencing a day on the beautiful waters of Bermuda onboard the Reef Explorer. Reef Explorer is Bermuda’s largest, most spacious custom-built glass bottom boat. We have assembled an awesome team, offering over 35 years of experience and commitment in the Bermuda tour boat industry.
We treat every passenger with a friendly and positive attitude, and are always willing to go that extra mile to ensure you always enjoy the ultimate cruising experience with us.

Tobacco Bay Beach Bermuda & Snorkeling (4K)
We visited Bermuda via cruise ship for 3 days. One of the days we spent at St George, where we walked to Tobacco Bay Beach (took about 20 minutes from the ferry terminal) and enjoyed some swimming & snorkeling there. It was overcast and windy, so the waters were a bit cold even in June. Snorkeling-wise this was a nice spot- as you can see in the video we saw a lot of fish, the most interesting being the Princess Parrotfish.
There is a restaurant and bar right at the beach, and we've posted the menu prices for the drinks & food, as well as the costs for beach chair & kayak rental. There is a public bathroom that is free to use.
After fun on the beach we headed over to the nearby Fort St Catherine, which is about a 15 minute walk away.
This was from our June 2019 Bermuda cruise aboard the Celebrity Summit.

Bermuda - Bermuda Island Drive
This tour covers the entire length of the island of Bermuda and includes a view of the famous pink sand beaches. Your driver will pick you up in a bus shipside and head out through Dockyard into Somerset Village. You'll pass over Somerset Drawbridge, the smallest drawbridge in the world. A photo stop will be made at the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, where you can enjoy the 360 degree view offered from the base. Continuing on this coastal drive allows for an even more impressive view of the South Shore beaches with their pink sand, azure blue waters and the imposing barrier reef that encircles the island. Pass by the Botanical Gardens and drive to St. Georges, a World Heritage Site. The town's history is visible with its narrow winding alleys and cobblestone streets. Next you'll make your way into the City of Hamilton, the capital of Bermuda, before your return to the ship.

Bermuda Vlog 2 (Hamilton, St George's, Glass-bottom boat, lighthouse) Part 2 of 2
NEW VIDEOS EVERY FRIDAY!
I wanted to to shout out a big thanks to the tour company that ran the glass bottom boat tour. I am usually wary of tours to see any kind of wildlife because they have been so hit or miss in the past. But on this tour I got to see TONS of fish, corals and more. I was absolutely thrilled with the tour and highly recommend! (Note: this video is not sponsored; I don't even recall the name of the tour company and couldn't look it up - but you can book their tour through Carnival.)
Welcome to Part 2 of my 2 part Bermuda series! There was just too much to cover in one video on this first stop for my back to back adventure on the Carnival Pride! Additional vlogs from this trip coming soon!

Reef Explorer - Corporate Charter 2015
Bermuda - Traffic (2003)
Bermuda, also referred to in legal documents as, fully, the Bermudas or Somers Isles, is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, located off the east coast of North America. Its nearest landmass is Cape Hatteras, United States, about 1,030 kilometres (640 mi) to the west-northwest. It is about 1,239 kilometres (770 mi) south of Cape Sable Island, Canada, and 1,538 kilometres (956 mi) north of Puerto Rico. Its capital city is Hamilton.
The first known European explorer to reach Bermuda was Spanish sea captain Juan de Bermúdez in 1503, after whom the islands are named. He claimed the apparently uninhabited islands for the Spanish Empire. Paying two visits to the archipelago, Bermúdez landed on the islands inscribing his name into Portuguese Rock (previously Spanish Rock). Subsequent Spanish or other European parties are believed to have released pigs there, which had become feral and abundant on the island by the time European settlement began. In 1609, the English Virginia Company, which had established Virginia and Jamestown on the North American continent two years earlier, established a settlement. It was founded in the aftermath of a hurricane, when the crew of the sinking Sea Venture steered the ship onto the reef so they could get ashore.
The island was administered as an extension of Virginia by the Company until 1614, when its successor, the Somers Isles Company, took over and managed it until 1684. At that time, the company's charter was revoked, and the English Crown took over administration. The islands became a British colony following the 1707 unification of the parliaments of Scotland and England, which created the Kingdom of Great Britain. After 1949, when Newfoundland became part of Canada, Bermuda was automatically ranked as the oldest remaining British Overseas Territory. Since the return of Hong Kong to China in 1997, it is the most populous Territory. Its first capital, St. George's, was established in 1612 and is the oldest continuously inhabited English town in the New World.
Bermuda's economy is based on offshore insurance and reinsurance, and tourism, the two largest economic sectors. Bermuda had one of the world's highest GDP per capita for most of the 20th century and several years beyond. Recently, its economic status has been affected by the global recession. It has a subtropical climate. Bermuda is the northernmost point of the Bermuda Triangle, a region of sea in which, according to legend, a number of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared under supposedly unexplained or mysterious circumstances. The island is in the hurricane belt and prone to severe weather. However, it is somewhat protected from the full force of a hurricane by the coral reef that surrounds the island.
INSIDE CRYSTAL CAVE IN BERMUDA!
Hey guys! We made it to the crystal water cave in Bermuda! It was so beautiful! We took the ferry boat to Georgetown that was provided for free through the cruise line then we purchased 2 bus tickets to the caves. Once we got to the stop it was a bit of a walk over to the actual location were the caves were. We had two to choose from but the clear water just sounded so breath taking and it really was! It was such an awesome experience and I am glad we were able to capture it on camera for you all. Stay tuned for the rest of our cruise vlogs! Thank you for watching!

One Bermuda
Under the PLP, Bermuda’s economy was broken. Businesses were closing, debt was skyrocketing, and people were losing hope. Today, optimism has returned to the island as the OBA is turning our economy around and moving Bermuda in the right direction.
