Bertha Lake Hike in Waterton | Journey Alberta
The Bertha Lake hike in Waterton Lakes National Park is one of the reopened trails affected by the 2017 Kenow Wildfire. It's a moderate trail up to the lake, and also goes past the beautiful Bertha Falls. The lake itself seemed mostly unaffected by the fire, with lots of trees seemingly unburnt at the lake. On the way to the lake however, evidence of the fire is all around you. You'll walk through ash in some parts and see burnt trees, which is a different experience on a hike.
This video was originally part of my Camping in Waterton 2018 video I made, but since I've got some requests lately to do this hike in a video it was clear it was overlooked because there wasn't a specific video for it.

Lower Bertha Falls - Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta
Lower Bertha Falls on the trail to Bertha Lake in Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada.
One of the smallest Canada's Parks offers great trails with beautiful views. Waterton Park is often skipped by tourists heading straight to more famous Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Due to People using my videos without permission I will post this at the top of my original videos, rather than at the bottom: NO REUSE OF MY VIDEOS IS PERMITTED WITHOUT MY CONSENT.
A compilation of short videos that I took along the hike to Bertha Falls. This is a very easy hike for everyone in the family and it is a great prize to see that Bridal Veil style Waterfall at the end of this portion of the hike. You can continue onward and hike to the Bertha Lake, but it does get a little harder from there. The flowers along the hike are amazing and makes it worth while even just for the wild flowers.
Waterton Lakes National Park Hiking: Bertha Lake // Road Trip 2019
Waterton Lakes National Park -- As beautiful as Banff? Certainly smaller, and less crowded! But man, this place is picturesque. Incredible hikes, crystal clear lakes, beautiful views, and a tiny tow -- Waterton Village -- with all the amenities you need, whether you are camping, RVing, or staying in a hotel. Waterton Lakes National Park is like a warm-up to Banff -- less popular, less famous, and incredibly beautiful. We loved our time in Waterton!
Now off to Banff!

Hiking Lower Bertha Falls Trail After Wildfire - Waterton, Alberta
Very few trails were open when I visited Waterton during summer 2018 due to wildfire in 2017. Lower Bertha Falls was one of them. It was a pretty interesting experience walking through the burned out forest and see how the grass and flowers are starting to grow back. The trail was extremely busy and if you plan to hike it I would recommend going in the morning or late evening.

The hike is moderately easy, and the views are really sweet, :D

Video starts looking toward the campsites with Vimy Peak in the backdrop as it pans clockwise with views toward the lake follow by the trail toward Boundary Bay at USA-Canada international border. The trail back to Waterton Village can be seen as video comes back to the campsite.
Blakiston Falls- Waterton Lakes National Park
Blakiston Falls is one of the easier hikes in Waterton, but not without its rewards! 45 minute trek to scenic waterfalls with a lookout point, from the Red Rock Canyon trailhead. A very accessible hike that the whole family, of all ages can handle.

“The journey is always awesome than the destination!” And True enough we’ve had some pit stops, of course you have to! especially for this 7 hours of long and tiring drive from Edmonton going to waterton, in this Vlog we stopped by @thedonutmill this donut shop has delicious home made fresh donuts and a great instagrammable Old mill store design, we took some aerial shots of our rental suv, and thanks to @enterprise for a free upgrade!
