Dear viewrs waterfalls are natural phenomenon ...they start falling and also stop falling whenever and at whatever day and time , its a total natural phenomenon but most of the water falls do start in the month of august. No one can predict that when they stop. So, please keep that in mind while going to waterfalls. They may fall very fast at times and they may fall slowly at other times and they may totaly disappear too even in the peak of the khareef season.

Ayn Razat, The Best Tourist Attraction in Salalah, Oman
Ayn Razat
Oasis
Ain Razat is the most important source of spring water in Dhofar. It used to be one of the main sources of water for Salalah. It's water, as well as several smaller springs, flow into a long pool on the northern side of the carpark at the foot of the Jebel. Water flows along a falaj (watercourse) throughout the year, although flow is highest during the Kharif. This water flows 7 km to Al-Mamurah Palace, the Sultan’s residence when in Salalah. A further 3 km further on the watercourse reaches Razat Farm.
Fresh-water spring and picnic area near Salalah. The formal garden area is apparently open on Friday only, however, the broader area and spring is very nice. Signs warn against swimming due to risks of Bilharzia
Salalah, Oman Cruise Port Review and Shore Excursions
In our Salalah, Oman cruise port reveiw and shore excursions we give you tips to help you have a great day in port.
We visit:
Al-Husn Souq
Museum of the land of frankincense
Mughsail beach
We recommend you take a taxi from the port to town if you are interested in seeing a few different places. The Salalah cruise port is industrial, and there isn't much around. Salalah is not visited by many ships so your transportation options are also limited.
We hope you enjoyed our Oman cruise port review and get the most out of your Salalah shore excursions. If you liked this Oman port review, be sure to check out our other locations.

What is Salalah’s khareef season?
Khareef, which means ‘autumn’ in Arabic, is a period of seasonal weather in the southern Dhofar governorate of Oman. It causes the lands to become covered in green, the hills to be surrounded by white fog, and light rain to drizzle almost 24 hours a day. Unlike the extreme hot weather in the rest of Oman from July to September, Dhofar and its famous city Salalah have a cool refreshing weather that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Amazing Salalah Oman Trip | Dhofar Governorate Oman | Cinematic Video
Between wadis, mountains, crystal seas, golden beaches and sandy deserts, Oman provides nature-lovers with a lot to explore. Nevertheless, there’s nothing that turns Oman into a stunning paradise quite like khareef season in Salalah.

1. Mughsail Beach & Marneef Cave
Loved by tourists and locals, a breathtakingly beautiful beach!
Mugsail is a long stretch of clear blue water with white sand and beautiful cliffs on either side of the water. It's a magnificent and picturesque landscape!
Marneef cave is another natural attraction located in Salalah worth a visit. Located close to the beach of Mughsayl the cave in increasingly become a tourist favourite. .
2. Ayn Khor
Ayn Khor Waterfall is one of the tourist attractions to all over the world during Kharif Season in Salalah , Oman.
3. Ad Dahariz Beach
Ad Dahariz Beach, is one of the best beaches in Salalah. It’s a long stretch of pristine, white sand beach surrounded by coconut trees.
4. Frankincense Museum and Al-Baleed Archaeological Park
One of the area’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites (four separate listings grouped together under the label Land of Frankincense), Al-Baleed was the Dhofar region’s primary settlement from the 8th to the 16th century.
5. Ayn Razat
The most striking of all the springs scattered across the Salalah Plain, Ayn Razat flows copiously from the hillside at all times of year and rolls across the limestone pavement in something close to a permanent river. The water collects in a set of lily ponds, the pink and blue blooms of which attract bright-orange dragonflies, which in turn are watched by kingfishers with beaks of a similar hue.
7. Ayn garziz
One of the most visited of the springs issuing from the foothills surrounding Salalah, Ayn Garziz often has a generous flow of water collecting at the bottom of the knotted cliffs. With stunted fig trees and limestone formations, it's an interesting site, however, even when dry.
8. Wadi Darbat
Wadi Darbat is a splendid lush green valley with a river running through the middle. The surrounding hills have small caves which people can hike up to. It's the perfect spot for a little family picnic, or a friendly gathering.
9. Taqah Castle
The small Taqah castle was initially used as an office and residence for the ruler of Taqah until 1970. The fort has a prison located underground, a reception hall, a room for guards and a few storage rooms. The fort also has four watchtowers and family quarters.
10. Anti-Gravity Point
Located on the way between Mirbat and Salalah, is a desolate stretch of road which defies gravity as a car put in Neutral gear will start moving uphill at a speed of up to 35 km/hr.. The experience is unforgettable and will make an interesting anecdote. There are a lot of scientific explanations for this; most common being that this is a gravity hill.
11. Tawi Atair Sinkhole
Past the Wadi Darbat lies the Tawi Atayr, which translates to Well of Birds, containing one of the most gorgeous sinkholes that point to the honeycombed limestones. The vast Tawi Atair Sinkhole is the world's third largest sinkhole, as it is 1km long and 200 metres deep.
12. Jebel Samhan
Jebel Samhan is another local attraction in the city of Salalah. Burrowed in the hills and pasture lands of the Dhofar ranges is a protected and enclosed is the wildlife reserve of Jabal Samhan. The wildlife sanctuary plays host to the endangered Arabian leopard and other species of flora and fauna found in the Arabian peninsula.

Beach Resort Salalah, Salalah - Oman

Hello Guys,
So, I am again back with my first travel vlog. Please watch the video till the end. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below.
........................................................................................................
Content: thedesertdiva.com
How far is it?
From Al Ain it is 1085kms, so from Dubai/AD, approx 1200kms, maybe a little more. According to google maps, it will take 10.5 hours to drive with no stops and not counting border crossing formalities, should you take the inland route.
Which border should I take?
I recommend the Al Ain Mezyad/Hafeet Border. Using the Khatim Al Shikla border will add extra kms to an already very long journey.
Will I get a Visa on Arrival?
GCC residents with approved professions (and their dependents) as well as nationals from Oman’s List 1 can still receive a VOA.
Is there any benefit in applying for an e-visa?
There is certainly no harm in doing it as it saves paying at the border – I feel sure at some time in the future it will become compulsory.
Do shops in Oman accept AED?
You will find that many places accept both OMR and AED. The exchange rate is 9.54 AED to 1 OMR; most businesses will give you 10 AED to 1 OMR which is not the best exchange rate.
Will I get a phone signal or data when traveling?
Yes! Good signal on all the main routes south.
I recommend you purchase a Hayyak sim card from any mantel office, which will cost you 2 OMR. Top it up a bit more and activate data for 24 hours with the code #141*24#, 1 week with the code #141*7#. 1gb costs 1 OMR or 3 OMR respectively.
How are the roads?
Oman has invested a lot of money to improve its road system and they are much better than they used to be. You will find dual carriageway (highway) from Al Ain to Adam, thereafter the road becomes two way, unlit.
As I said above, the road is mostly unlit and two-way, and this takes some getting used to if you have driven exclusively in the UAE for a period of time. If you have to make the journey in one go, then I would leave the UAE about 1am (the border should be quiet then too) so that all the driving in the dark will be on dual carriageways.
Do I need a 4×4?
No need – unless you plan to do some offroad when you get there. 2wd cars are often lower and more stable than high 4x4s so do not feel disadvantaged in a low car.
Do I need to carry extra petrol?
Most definitely not!
There are plenty of petrol stations on the inland route – details on The Road and Miles to Salalah link above. That being said, very occasionally at peak times some petrol stations may run out of fuel, so I suggest you refill every time your petrol tank is 1/2 full.
Did we split the journey by staying overnight somewhere?
Yes, a great idea! There are some resthouses on road 31 as well as a couple of small hotels in Haima. The resthouses can be somewhat basic though.
If you opt for the coastal route there is a Crowne Plaza as well as a Park Inn at Duqm. There is also a smaller local hotel called the City Hotel, as well as others in Mahoot.
I am traveling there in August – at which point on the journey will it start to feel cool?
Would you believe – not until Thumrait, 60kms from Salalah! The other 900kms are hot hot hot desert temperatures, which means you cannot camp mid-way in the summer or even stop, apart from at rest areas (there are very few trees and little or no shade for most of southern part of the route).
What is there to do when we get to Salalah?
Lots and lots! Soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the cool temperatures and rain! People watch! Once you have done that you might want to explore a little; here are some routes I have done. Please note that there may be some road closures in remote areas after the cyclone last month.
Can I swim in the sea at Salalah?
In the Khareef (June-September) – definitely not, the tail end of the Indian Monsoon reaches southern Oman and the sea is very rough and tides extremely strong.
Where can you eat in Salalah?
All cuisines are catered for by a huge array of eateries – from small cafes to five-star hotels and everything in between. My tip is the Oasis Club, accessed via the port (you think you can’t go in as it is guarded by the army but it is ok to do so). Pub style food, very reasonably priced with a good selection of grape and hop.
Is it worth going to Salalah?
Absolutely! We recommend every expat go at least twice (we have been five times and the urge to return is still there). Once in the summer to experience rain and greenery so close to the desert! The atmosphere is very upbeat and it is a joy to mix with so many other nationalities as we all enjoy a respite from the summer heat of the rest of the gulf!

SECRET Beach in Oman! (Must see)
Well today we got to adventure with some new people that we met, and drove all down the gulf coast in Oman, looking for some cool beaches to go to with lots of blue water. We drove from Muscat, Oman, passing the Bimmah sinkhole, fins and many other beaches, ending up ending all the way in Sur Oman. Crazy long day driving all over Oman but we got to get some cool shots from the DJI Mavic Air, which was really close to the Bimmah Sinkhole!
