Israel Trip: Day 6! (Dome of the Rock, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Pool of Bethesda, Church of Holy Sepulchre)
This morning, we woke up and walked from our hotel to the Temple Mount. As we walked, we located the United States Embassy in Jerusalem. On the Temple Mount, we recorded footage of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. After leaving the Temple Mount, we headed to the edge of Jerusalem to learn about the border fence.

The Democratic National Committee is criticizing President-elect Donald Trump for not doing more to address potential conflicts of interest as he prepares to assume the presidency.
Trump said Saturday that he will dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation amid efforts to eliminate any conflicts of interest.
In a response, the Democratic National Committee is dismissing Trump's move as a wilted fig leaf to cover up his remaining conflicts of interest and his pitiful record of charitable giving.
The statement from Democratic Party spokesman Eric Walker also says that closing a charity is no substitute for divesting from his for-profit business and putting the assets in a blind trust. The party says doing that is the only way to guarantee separation between the Trump administration and the Trump business.

One of Donald Trump's senior communications staffers says he will not take the job of White House communications director after all.
Jason Miller said in a statement Saturday that he's decided not to accept the role offered to him by Trump so he can spend more time with his family.
Miller was one of the main spokesmen for Trump's transition team. He says he and his wife are expecting their second daughter in January and this is not the right time to start a new job.
He says that after spending the past week with his family, it is clear they need to be my top priority right now.
Miller says he has handed all of his responsibilities to incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer, who will serve as communications director as well as press secretary.

Donald Trump says the decision by the United Nations to condemn Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem will make it much harder to negotiate peace.
The president-elect took to Twitter on Saturday, a day after the U.N. Security Council vote on the settlements.
Trump says that the decision is too bad, but we will get it done anyway.
Trump didn't elaborate, but a move by the Obama administration to abstain from Friday's U.N. vote brushes aside Trump's demands that the U.S. exercise its veto and provided a climax to years of icy relations with Israel's leadership.
Trump told The Associated Press a year ago that he wanted to be very neutral on Israel-Palestinian issues. But his tone on the issue became decidedly more pro-Israel as the presidential campaign progressed. He has spoken disparagingly of Palestinians, saying they have been taken over by or are condoning militant groups.

President-elect Donald Trump says he will dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation amid efforts to eliminate any conflicts of interest before he takes office next month.
Trump said in a statement Saturday that his charitable foundation has done enormous good works over the years in contributing millions of dollars to countless worthy groups, including supporting veterans, law enforcement officers and children.
He said that given the conflicts of interest, he will pursue philanthropic efforts in other ways, without elaborating on how he'd do so.
Trump said he's directed his counsel to take the necessary steps to implement the dissolution.
The revelation comes a day after Trump lamented the fact that his son Eric would be stepping away from his charitable foundation due to conflicts of interest.

Pool of Siloam & Pool of Bethesda Discovered
John 5New King James Version (NKJV)
A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda
5 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda,[a] having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.[b] 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

Places to see in ( Bethesda - UK )
Bethesda is a town on the River Ogwen and the A5 road on the edge of Snowdonia, in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, colloquially called Pesda by the locals. It all started in 1823 when the Bethesda Chapel was built and the town grew around it. The chapel was rebuilt in 1840 and has now been converted into flats and is known as Arafa Don.
The town grew around the slate and stone quarrying industries; the largest of the local quarries is the Penrhyn Quarry. At its peak, the town was exporting its purple slate all over the world, and in doing so gained a reputation for being the world's best. The town was the site of a three-year strike led by the North Wales Quarrymen's Union from 1900. This led to the creation of the nearby village of Tregarth, built by the quarry owners, which housed the families of those workers who had not struck.
Most of the town is to the east and north east of the A5 road, with housing packed onto the hillside in irregular rows. This was due to the A5 marking the border between Lord Penrhyn's land, and the freehold land. This can still be seen in the layout of the current high street, where all the public houses are found on one side of the road.
In 1884 a branch of the London and North Western Railway's network from Bangor was opened. The line closed to passengers in 1951 and to freight in 1963. These days the trackbed of the Penrhyn Quarry Railway towards Porth Penrhyn is taken over by the Lôn Las Ogwen cycle path.
In its heyday, the population of Bethesda peaked at 10,000; it is currently around 4,327 people (2001 census), there are also the villages of Rachub and Tregarth nearby. Current opportunities for employment in the town are limited: there are a few manufacturing businesses; most businesses are in the low-paid service sector and hospitality industry. For employment with higher earning potential, residents tend to commute to towns along the North Wales coast. Bangor is the most popular destination, but some will commute daily as far as Cheshire. Because of the lack of degree-based employment opportunities, many young people move out of the area to places such as Cardiff and Manchester as soon as they are qualified. Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen (Ogwen Valley School) is a bilingual comprehensive school, with 374 pupils, established in 1951. Zip World Velocity in Penryn Quarry is the longest zipline in Europe, at just over 1600 metres long, and brings the town hundreds of visitors.
The architecture and layout of the town is largely utilitarian. Most of the buildings are constructed of stone with slate roofs. Some are constructed wholly of slate blocks, although such buildings tend to suffer from damp and structural slippage because the very flat and smooth surfaces of slate do not bind well to mortar. The town has 40 Grade II listed buildings, including three pubs, in addition to the substantial and imposing Grade I listed Nonconformist Jerusalem Chapel.
The upper parts of Carneddi, Cilfodan and Tan y Foel owe more to stone quarrying on the nearby hills rather than slate quarrying that supported the lower end of the town. At the eastern limits, the town is bounded by the rising land of the Carneddau mountains which form some of the more remote landscapes of Snowdonia. Much of Bethesda once consisted of discrete villages such as Gerlan, Rachub and Braichmelyn; their names are retained as districts of the town.
( Bethesda - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Bethesda . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Bethesda - UK

Top Secrets of Jerusalem
Jerusalem (/dʒəˈruːsələm/; Hebrew: יְרוּשָׁלַיִם About this sound Yerushalayim [jeruʃaˈlajim]; Arabic: القُدس About this sound al-Quds [alˈqʊds])[note 2] is a city in the Middle East, located on a plateau in the Judaean Mountains between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea.
One of the oldest cities in the world, Jerusalem was named as Urusalima on ancient Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets, probably meaning City of Shalem after a Canaanite deity, during the early Canaanite period (approximately 2400 BCE). During the Israelite period, significant construction activity in Jerusalem began in the 9th century BCE (Iron Age II), and in the 8th century the city developed into the religious and administrative center of the Kingdom of Judah.[7] During its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed at least twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times.[8] The part of Jerusalem called the City of David was settled in the 4th millennium BCE.[9] In 1538, walls were built around Jerusalem under Suleiman the Magnificent. Today those walls define the Old City, which has been traditionally divided into four quarters—known since the early 19th century as the Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Quarters.[10] The Old City became a World Heritage Site in 1981, and is on the List of World Heritage in Danger.[11] Modern Jerusalem has grown far beyond the Old City's boundaries.
Jerusalem is considered a holy city in the three major Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. According to the Bible, King David conquered the city from the Jebusites and established it as the capital of the united kingdom of Israel, and his son, King Solomon, commissioned the building of the First Temple.[note 4] These foundational events, straddling the dawn of the 1st millennium BCE, assumed central symbolic importance for the Jewish people.[13] The sobriquet of holy city (עיר הקודש, transliterated ‘ir haqodesh) was probably attached to Jerusalem in post-exilic times.[14][15][16] The holiness of Jerusalem in Christianity, conserved in the Septuagint[17] which Christians adopted as their own authority,[18] was reinforced by the New Testament account of Jesus's crucifixion there. In Sunni Islam, Jerusalem is the third-holiest city, after Mecca and Medina.[19][20] In Islamic tradition in 610 CE it became the first qibla, the focal point for Muslim prayer (salat),[21] and Muhammad made his Night Journey there ten years later, ascending to heaven where he speaks to God, according to the Quran.[22][23] As a result, despite having an area of only 0.9 square kilometres (0.35 sq mi),[24] the Old City is home to many sites of seminal religious importance, among them the Temple Mount with its Western Wall, Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Outside the Old City stands the Garden Tomb.
Today, the status of Jerusalem remains one of the core issues in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. During the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, West Jerusalem was among the areas captured and later annexed by Israel while East Jerusalem, including the Old City, was captured and later annexed by Jordan. Israel captured East Jerusalem from Jordan during the 1967 Six-Day War and subsequently annexed it into Jerusalem, together with additional surrounding territory.[note 5] One of Israel's Basic Laws, the 1980 Jerusalem Law, refers to Jerusalem as the country's undivided capital. All branches of the Israeli government are located in Jerusalem, including the Knesset (Israel's parliament), the residences of the Prime Minister and President, and the Supreme Court. Whilst the international community rejected the annexation as illegal and treats East Jerusalem as Palestinian territory occupied by Israel,[28][29][30][31] Israel has a stronger claim to sovereignty over West Jerusalem.[32][33] The international community, other than the United States, the Czech Republic and Vanuatu, does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, and, since the 1980s, the city hosts no foreign embassies, although a Presidential order has been issued in the United States to move its embassy to Jerusalem. Jerusalem is also home to some non-governmental Israeli institutions of national importance, such as the Hebrew University and the Israel Museum with its Shrine of the Book.
In 2015, Jerusalem had a population of some 850,000 residents, comprising ca. 200,000 secular Jewish Israelis, 350,000 Ultra-Orthodox Jews and 300,000 Palestinians.[34][note 6] In 2011, the population numbered 801,000, of which Jews comprised 497,000 (62%), Muslims 281,000 (35%), Christians 14,000 (around 2%) and 9,000 (1%) were not classified by religion.

Church of All Nations Jerusalem - Jesus Agony in the Garden.mov
Watch the Video from the Church of All Nations Jerusalem which is also known by the name of the basilica of the Agony Jerusalem to commemorate Jesus Agony in the Garden (Gethsemane).
The Church of All Nation Mount Olives is located on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, next to the Garden of Gethsemane which means in Aramaic Oil Press. Several trees in this garden are older than any other olive trees reported in the scientific literature. They could be from the time of Jesus. Can you believe it?
According to Christian's tradition, Jesus was praying to his father right here on this rock on the night of the agony ( known as Jesus Agony in Gethsemane) which is the night before his crucifixion. The Funds for the construction of the church that we see today was donated by 12 countries, hence the alternative name of The Church of All Nations. If you look at the ceiling or the roof, from outside, you can see 12 domes - one for each country.
When you are inside the All Nations Church, the dim-lighting effects, produced by using translucent purplish blue alabaster windows, give you the dispirited atmosphere on the night of the agony.
Inside the church before the main altar in the central prayer hall, lays the Rock of Agony on which Jesus has prayed the night before the Passion (Jesus Agony in the Garden). The rock is encircled by an Iron wreath cast in the form of the Crown of thorns to recall the crown of thorns that that roman soldiers placed on Jesus' head to mock him as the King of the Jews. On the wall behind the altar, there is a big mosaic depicting Jesus leaning on the rock while praying to his father while an angel descending from above to console him and the three disciples are sleeping below an olive tree. To the right of this mosaic there is another one depicting the Judas' betrayal of Jesus and to the left there is another mosaic depicting Jesus identifying himself to the roman soldiers who came to arrest him.
Now let's have a look at the Church of All Nations from outside. In the front there is a Portico supported by four structural columns. Each group of Columns bears the status of one of the authors of the canonical Gospels -- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Here we see a golden mosaic depicting Jesus ads the symbolic link between the Material world and the creator:
- In the center -- Jesus is kneeling in prayer. The Crimson color of his robe symbolizes the material world (Flesh and blood).
- To Jesus' left (your right)-- an angel is receiving his heart which he scarified for the sake of humanity. The crowed is shown beseeching God with prayer and tears for salvation. And a mother mourning for her son whom she old in her harms.
- To Jesus' right (your left) - are depictions of earthly notable: A warrior holding a sword, a ruler kneeling in front of his crown and a wise scholar in a white robe symbolizing life experience. They are all bowing their head and recognizing Jesus' supremacy.
- God is portrayed hovering over them all, holding a tablet with the Greek Letters Alpha and Omega (the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet) as written in the Scriptures: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending (Rev. 1:18)
Children's Memorial at the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem
A very somber memorial, a darkened room mirrored on all sides with faint lights and candles reflecting in every direction off into eternity. A voice continuously reads off the names of the 1.5 million children killed also saying where they were from and their age at death.

Bethesda, Maryland
Bethesda is an unincorporated, census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. In Aramaic, beth ḥesda () means House of Mercy and in Hebrew, beit ḥesed () means House of Kindness. The National Institutes of Health main campus and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center are in Bethesda, as are a number of corporate and government headquarters.
As an unincorporated community, Bethesda has no official boundaries. The United States Census Bureau defines a census-designated place named Bethesda whose center is located at . The United States Geological Survey has defined Bethesda as an area whose center is at , slightly different from the Census Bureau's definition. Other definitions are used by the Bethesda Urban Planning District, the United States Postal Service (which defines Bethesda to comprise the ZIP Codes 20810, 20811, 20813, 20814, 20815, 20816, and 20817), and other organizations. According to estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2013, the community had a total population of 63,374. Most of Bethesda's residents are in Maryland Legislative District 16.
Bethesda is situated along a major thoroughfare that was originally the route of an ancient Native American trail. Henry Fleet (1602-1661), an English fur trader, was the first European to travel to the area, which he reached by sailing up the Potomac River.
