There's A First Time For Everything! | Rose & Crown, Beverly, & Joy & Saddness at EPCOT
Two of our favorite things have come to an end today: the Erhardt's vacation and the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Live show! Luckily, we jam packed the rest of the day with so many firsts and fun memories. First we dropped off some surprise gifts in their room, then we had the kids try Beverly for the first time. After a last minute Rose and Crown reservation, we meet Joy and Saddness for the very first time! The rain scares off Illuminations, but we happily soak up our last night in the parks with this very special family. We can't wait for them to return in October!

BHTV: Outstanding Bird Watching in Western North Carolina
One activity that's becoming more popular every day is birding. And there's no better place to see such a wide variety of birds than right here, in our mountains. With our mountainous topography and four-season climate, many rare and exciting species call Western North Carolina home for at least a portion of the year.
BHTV: Community Gardens Bring Community Together in WNC -
BHTV: Connecting with the Farm-to-Fiber Community in WNC -
BHTV: Asheville Parks, Part 1 – City Parks -
It seems it's not just people who love our moderate temperatures and lush vegetation. Our community is mindful of protecting space for public use, which keeps our quality of life high, along with property values. There are many great spots to go birding in Western North Carolina. Today, we are at the Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary in North Asheville, and Jackson Park in Hendersonville.
“Bird watching is, surprisingly to a lot of people, the fastest growing hobby in North America, way out-competing golf and soccer, and all these other activities—even gardening, now,” says Simon Thompson of Wild Birds Unlimited & Ventures Birding Tours. “The Fish and Wildlife Service have estimated that over 50 million people now actively feed or watch birds, which is quite extensive and growing. It's great to see so many people going out and enjoying the outdoors.”
“And you've got from almost 7,000 feet in elevation in the Blue Ridge, where, if it's 90 degrees, you can go up there and enjoy the relatively cool temperatures. Or, within a couple of hours, you can be down at the coast in a completely different environment and ecosystem. So, gosh, I have no plans to move anywhere else.”
“These high elevations mean that the birds towards the top of our Blue Ridge are actually birds of the Canadian eco-zone,” says Thompson. “So a lot of these birds are found nowhere else here in the South. Which makes the whole area for a naturalist's point of view, a superb area to base yourself.”
“Western North Carolina offers outstanding birding,” says Tom Tribble, president of the Elisha Mitchell Audubon Society. “It is a flyway for migrating birds, and we get migrating birds coming up in the spring, and going south in the winter. So the Western North Carolina mountains are a wonderful place to bird. Lots of species, in fact, in this little sanctuary, we've had more than 190 species of birds seen right here.”
“In Western North Carolina, because it's such a good birding area, I think we're getting more and more birders that are coming to the mountains just to see birds,” says Tribble. “We see people from outta the state, and also from the Piedmont and coastal regions of North Carolina. People come here for the leaves, but people also come here for the birding. And there are an incredible number of other attractions, but I stay here for the birds.”

BHTV: Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Live the life you choose in Western NC by enjoying the incredible Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in the U.S.
BHTV: Explore WNC via the Blue Ridge Parkway:
BHTV: Incredible Views of Chimney Rock State Park:
BHTV: Celebrating 100 Years of State & National Parks in WNC:
I'm here in one of the original structures of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is visited by more than nine million people each year, making this the most visited national park in the United States.
This is all right here in our backyard, which is why many consider Waynesville to be the perfect place to live the ideal mountain lifestyle—being equally distant from the regional center of Asheville and this incredible national park.
“Down below us you'll see the hemlock trees,” says Steve Woody, board member of Friends of the Smokies and descendant of Cataloochee Valley. “They are what cause the Smokies. Hemlocks wick. Water comes out of the stem and the needles on the hemlock tree, and that causes a haze that gave the Smokies its name.”
Tell me about your family, because I know y’all have been here a long time.
“Both of my grandparents were members of the original settlers in Cataloochee Valley, Palmers and Woodys. The valley was first settled in the 1830s, and slowly people started coming in. In fact, there was so many people that in 1910 the census showed 1,250 people were in the valley living here. They had a church. They had a school. They had a couple of small stores. So, it was a prosperous, thriving community.”
What happened to the families that lived here?
“Well the national park came, which now comprises about 510,000 acres, or about 800 square miles of park. And that was in the mid-1930s when the park came. My grandfather was one of the very last to move out. He moved out in 1942. But then the war was on and it was very hard to live back here.”
Looking around here, it's so beautiful, all the vegetation and trees. Tell me about that.
“It is. This is the second most biodiverse place on the planet, the Smokies are. It is amazing. 136 different species of trees in the Smokies. For instance, in Europe I think only has about seven.”
I know the Friends of the Smokies that you're very involved with has had a big part in preserving everything.
“We've been in business about 20 years. And since, then we have given the park over $20 million to help preserve this place.”
Thank you so much for giving us your fascinating history. It's been really interesting.
“Well, you're welcome. And you know, the whole history of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is interesting. Now obviously, I think Cataloochee Valley is the prettiest place and the most historic. But if you travel all over the park, it's an amazing thing to see. And you can spend a lifetime seeing the beautiful Smoky Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The wild abandoned railway in the centre of Paris
Long before the Metro, the steam trains of Petite Ceinture (Little Belt in English) connected Paris's main railway stations carrying people around the city along the path of its ancient walls. The circular line went into gradual decline from the 1930s, when competition arrived in the form of the more modern underground Metro system.
For 32km (almost 20 miles) the tracks of Petite Ceinture snake through bustling Paris, isolated and largely unseen from street level in deep trenches, long tunnels, and bridges. Nature has reclaimed the space and it has become a haven for wild flowers and animals.
The line is officially off-limits to the public, but this hasn't stopped many people attempting to explore it.
There is now a fierce debate in the French capital about what to do with the tracks and stations of the Petite Ceinture that still remain. A small section opened as a park in August 2013 and the mayoral elections offer competing plans for cycle routes and parks. Associations set up to preserve the space would prefer to see the line reopened for pedestrian services.

Richmond Park, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, was created as a deer park. The largest of London's Royal Parks, it is of national and international importance for wildlife conservation. The park is a national nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation and is included, at Grade I, on Historic England's Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England. Its landscapes have inspired many famous artists and it has been a location for several films and TV series.

Richmond Park includes many buildings of architectural or historic interest. The Grade I-listed White Lodge was formerly a royal residence and is now home to the Royal Ballet School. The park's boundary walls and ten other buildings are listed at Grade II, including Pembroke Lodge, the home of 19th-century British Prime Minister Lord John Russell and his grandson, the philosopher Bertrand Russell.
Historically the preserve of the monarch, the park is now open for all to use and includes a golf course and other facilities for sport and recreation. It played an important role in both world wars and in the 1948 and 2012 Olympics.

SWAZILAND Provides Safe and Authentic Travel Experience for the EXECUTIVE - Big Game, Wildlife Parks
SWAZILAND Provides Safe and Authentic Travel Experience for the EXECUTIVE - Big Game, Wildlife Parks
Swaziland is a country in Southern Africa, landlocked by South Africa in its west and Mozambique in the east. Swaziland's absolute monarchy is one of the oldest in Africa.
Swaziland, one of the last absolute monarchies in the world, is one of the smallest countries in Africa and has a well-earned reputation for friendliness in Southern Africa. It also contains several large game parks and reserves, which are sponsored by the government and are popular tourist destinations.
Compared to other countries in the region, Swaziland is known for its civility and peacefulness, despite similar problems with poverty and one of the world's worst AIDS crises. As of November 2008 the total reported percentage of those with HIV was listed as 30%; this, of course, does not include those who have not yet been tested. The AIDS epidemic has broken up the traditional extended family unit, leaving many young children orphaned and fighting for survival.
Swaziland is divided into four adminstrative districts: Hhohho (northwest), Lubombo (east), Manzini (central-west), and Shiselweni (south).
Artifacts indicating human activity dating back to the early Stone Age 200,000 years ago have been found in the Kingdom of Swaziland. Prehistoric rock art paintings date from ca. 25,000 B.C. The earliest inhabitants of the area were Khoisan hunter-gatherers. They were largely replaced by the Bantu tribes during Bantu migrations who hailed from the Great Lakes regions of Eastern Africa.
The autonomy of the Swaziland Nation was dictated by British rule of southern Africa in the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1881 the British government signed a convention recognizing Swazi independence. At the start of the Anglo Boer war, Britain placed Swaziland under its direct jurisdiction as a Protectorate. The Swaziland independence Constitution was promulgated by Britain in November 1963 in terms of which a legislative Council and an Executive Council were established. The first Legislative Council of Swaziland was constituted on 9 September 1964. Changes to the original constitution proposed by the Legislative Council were accepted by Britain and a new Constitution providing for a House of Assembly and Senate was drawn up. Elections under this Constitution were held in 1967. Since 1973, Swaziland has seen a rather quiet struggle between pro-multiparty activists and the monarchy. It gained independence from UK in 1968.
The Kingdom of Swaziland is surrounded on the north and south by South Africa, and on the east is bordered by Mozambique.
The Kingdom provides travellers the ideal gateway between KwaZulu-Natal and the Kruger National Park, as well as Johannesburg and Maputo - no better route is available with added advantage of discovering a whole new country filled with bygone African traditions and Swazi Culture.
Swaziland covers an area of approximately 193 kilometres from north to south, and 145 kilometres from east to west.
Small as it may be, Swaziland is an exciting tourist destination with its Arts and Crafts outlets and traditional markets and wildlife reserves.
At Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary tame birds and animals are free to come and go and wander through the camp grounds. Mkhaya Game Reservee offers visitors the opportunity of game viewing by open Landrover with guides.
A major attraction for the visit to Swaziland is the casinos located at the Royal Swazi Sun Hotel complex, in the heart of the Ezulwini Valley, between Mbabane and Manzini. Swaziland offers many scenic drives. North of Mbabane, the road to Luve is known as Pine Valley with a series of waterfalls on the Black Umbeluzi River and the granite heights of Bald Rock. forbes rich list London luxury shopping billionaire millionaire Monaco super rich private jet yacht entertainment luxs report us usa America uk London Donald trump Dubai elite executive arab ceo forbes Europe vip money lil wayne travel 5 star hotel super car bugatti Lamborghini Ferrari Porsche private jet 2014 2015 monaco luxury get rich gambling investment Beverly Hills Malibu Miami positive thinking super yacht mega yacht playboy mansion luxury lifestyle mansion Swaziland Africa tour tourism travel travel destination 5 star hotel luxury travel south Africa big game wildlife parks The drive to Piggs Peak, in the north is one of the most scenic in the country. The Malolotja National Park lies to the west of the road and here, after a stiff walk, you can view the Malolotja Falls, the highest in Swaziland. Swaziland also hosts a large number of internationally renowned hotels and a number of thermal springs where visitors can relax and unwind. Most are located at Ezulwini.
Swaziland might be among the smallest countries on the continent and one of Africa's remaining monarchies, but there's more than novelty value on offer here.

Florida Travel: Welcome to The Barnacle Historic State Park, Coconut Grove
Just 15 minutes from South Beach and 10 minutes from Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove is known as one of the hippest, most energetic, most inviting corners of South Florida, but it also hides a secret from the past. Giraffe's Safari West, Sonoma, CA
Safari West is a 400-acre (160 ha) private wildlife preserve located in Sonoma County, California, United States.
The selection of wildlife emphasizes species native to Africa, including giraffes, rhinoceros, cheetahs, and numerous species of birds. The park engages in breeding programs that, through exchanges with other zoos and parks, keep the gene pool healthy for the species that are involved in the program. The park is also home to species that are considered to be extinct in the wild.
The park, one of six accredited private zoos in the United States,[2] combines wild animal care with vacation lodging.[3] The establishment was started in the early 1970s on a cattle ranch in Beverly Hills, California, owned by Otto Lang, a film director who worked on The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Sea Hunt, Flipper, and Daktari.[4] Peter Lang, his son, inspired by his father's interest in animals, began to keep wild animals on the ranch.[2]
After selling the Beverly Hills property, for use as a park, Peter Lang moved the operation to a larger ranch near Calistoga, California, in 1978, and then in 1989 to its present location on a former sheep ranch near Santa Rosa, California. In 1993, he opened it to children's tours, and later added overnight lodging, safari tours, and a restaurant. As of 2013, it had about 900 animals of approximately 79 animal species.[3][4]
