Filmed in glorious 4K so to get the best experience turn the quality all the way up to its highest setting. Look for the gear icon on the bottom right of the video. Our films are best viewed on a 4K TV or computer monitor (2160p youtube setting), you will feel like you're right there with us!
This is just one episode of the Barefoot Captain and his crew’s many adventures. This is just the start of many short films I will post documenting our expeditions aboard my 40 foot sailing catamaran “Barefoot” to remote parts of the Coral Sea and beyond.
This is our most epic expedition yet, we will be sailing over 8000nm to the most remote reefs in this part of the Pacific ocean and beyond to Vanuatu and New Caledonia. We encounter Sharks, Whales and plenty of Sea Snakes, explore deserted coral islands teeming with birds and find centuary's old shipwrecks. Dive for our dinner and endure breakdowns and engine failures. All part of the fun that is living lives of no fixed address.
A little background – My name is Dean Cropp, I have “hacked life”, sold the house and quit my day job to follow the legendary course of my ocean adventurer father Ben Cropp. Continuing my fathers legacy to re-visit the shipwrecks and wild places he found 50 years ago.
This motley crew of 6 love to sail, film and explore. We have started right here in Australia’s Coral Sea. We look for the wildest, most remote and unknown locations to explore, you wont find many of these places in any tourist guide or even most sailing books.
I have been a cameraman and Director of Photography for almost 20 years and I specialise in underwater Cinematography. Most of my crew are also photographers, divers and camera nerds too. So this is us on our time off, doing what we love, filming our adventures all in 4K and all for you!!! I hope you enjoy it!

Elevated Oceanview Estate in Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas | Damianos Sotheby's International Realty
Serenade is the creation of a talented custom builder and successful international businessman. Every exterior and interior detail of the home reflects a personal creative expression, a matter of the heart, as the owner describes it. The home was not created to conform, but to express the owner's preference for traditional West Indian, Southern California Coastal and Bahamian Out Island design influences.
Serenade has 6,800 square feet under air and 7,500 under roof. It sits on a 17, 474 sq. ft. lot and features 4 beautifully furnished large bedrooms, 5 full baths, and a privately accessed caretaker’s unit with separate full kitchen and laundry.
Serenade is perched on a cliff 80' above the translucent aquamarine sea below. The meticulously planned and extensively terraced landscape of the property contains numerous hand-chiseled limestone walls and fountains, meandering coral stone steps, and captivating gardens filled with Yellow Alamanda, Pink Dipladinea, Purple Showers, and Red Mandevilla.
Beautiful ornamental metal gates lead you into to the exterior entrance foyer. Step through the gorgeous custom mahogany main entrance door and you're immediately captured by the intricate architectural millwork and detailed interior finishes, including double trey ceilings in every room along with wide plank European ceramic flooring and granite and marble surfaces throughout.
Subzero and Wolf appliances, custom cabinets crafted by an artisan in the Blue Ridge Mountains, black granite countertops from South America, limestone and ocean pebble stone surfaces from the Caribbean, all fill the beautifully designed gourmet kitchen that would please any master chef.
On the second level, there are over 800 sq. ft. of walk-in closet space with custom, built-in cabinets. The owner's private study and library contains a large built-in workstation and wide casement picture window overlooking the sea.
Just outside, the spectacular infinity-edge pool creates the illusion of stepping directly out into the endless sea beyond. It's a magical touch that adds to the breathtaking 180-degree view from the natural limestone pool deck. There is also an outdoor kitchen with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances along with an outdoor shower and an integrated Bose sound system. The home’s fully equipped gym complements an active lifestyle.
The energy-efficient home is completely solar-powered and includes an Integrated water treatment system with multi-media filtration, UV disinfection, Fine Mesh Softening and Reverse Osmosis Ultra-Purification, along with a 20,000-gallon rainwater holding cistern. Serenade features state-of-the-art security boasting a CCTV security camera system with integrated exterior security lighting. The property is gated and completely secured by high boundary walls with anti-climbing devices and anti-climbing security fencing. Complete with hurricane impact windows and exterior doors, the house is structurally engineered and constructed to be impervious to CAT 5 hurricane conditions. Other features of this spectacular home include Coastal custom LED landscape lighting system. two-car garage. Seer energy-efficient AC system, dual 500 gallon LP gas storage tank, 35-40kW Cat diesel generator with ATS, and 25' boat parking deck (the boat ramp is just down the street at Gambier Village).
Serenade is a special place, not just another beautiful, tropical home. In the words of Serenade's owner/builder, I wanted the home to be unpretentious, yet elegant; provide a seamless indoor/outdoor living environment filled with natural light and soft colors. The finish materials are warm and inviting to the touch. The home evokes a very personal, visceral attachment to the sea. This beautiful residence is the perfect investment property offering exceptional rental income potential and qualifies one for Bahamian Permanent Residency, in a favorable tax environment that The Bahamas offers.

Fish Cays Crooked & Acklin Islands.wmv
The Fish Cays in the Crooked and Acklins have some of the clearest water, most beautiful anchorages and some of the prettiest beaches to be found in the Bahamas. We were so enthralled with our experience here that we really didn't pay attention to the picture or movie that we took. Only after we were back in Long Island and I started working on the Web Page did I see how few pictures we had and how limited the quality of the movies were. Sorry bout that! Hopefully you'll be able to see beyond that and get a little feel for the Cays...
