Bhadra Fort market : Ahmedabad
Vendors wait for customers at Bhadra Fort bazaar in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
Bhadra Fort is situated in the walled city area of Ahmedabad, India. It was built by Ahmad Shah I in 1411. With its well carved royal palaces, mosques, gates and open spaces, it was renovated in 2014 by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Archeological Survey of India (ASI) as a cultural centre for the city.
Under Bhadra Plaza Development Project, an initiative of the AMC and the ASI, Bhadra Fort was renovated and the open space between the fort and Teen Darwaza, earlier known as Maidan-Shah was restored. Landscaping was recreated based on the accounts of historical past travellers. The work started on 26 January 2012 and the renovation of open areas was completed in November 2014. The cost of the project is estimated Rs 115 crore. A stretch between the fort and Teen Darwaza earlier known as Maidan-Shah was declared a pedestrian zone. The new public amenities, marble banches and kiosks for hawkers were constructed. There are also plans for a pedestrian bridge connecting Bhadra plaza with the Sabarmati riverfront and a multilevel car park at Lal Darwaza. The museum and galleries are planned on the first floor of the fort palace while a handicraft outlet will be housed on the ground floor. A traditional restaurant, food and ethnic markets as well as an exhibition centre are also planned. It is the first heritage and pedestrianization project under JnNURM. Jaishankar Sundari hall, a performing arts venue, was renovated and reopened in 2010.
The city civil court and sessions court were operated in buildings adjacent to Azam Khan Sarai. They were transferred to old high court building on Ashram Road. The new eight floor court building is planned after demolition of old buildings. The plan was challenged in Gujarat High Court citing protected monument laws and regulations but high court permitted the construction after presentation by authorities.

Teen darwaja (three gates), Ahmedabad
One of the most popular tourist attraction of Ahmedabad. It is a heritage monument. This place is Oldest market in fort city area of Ahmedabad, India
Teen Darwaja and Lal Darwaja Market in Gujarat
Teen Darwaza is a historical gateway on the east of Bhadra Fort, Ahmedabad, India. Completed in 1415, it is associated with historical as well as legendary events. The gates are featured in the logo of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
It was built by Ahmed Shah I immediately after the foundation of Ahmedabad and completed in 1415. Through it, in 1459, Mahmud Begada, king for only a few months, and not fifteen years old, quiver on back and bow in hand, with only 300 horsemen, marched to disperse his rebel nobles and their 30,000 followers. Leaving the palace, the young king ordered the roads leading to it to be held by elephants, and, with the royal music playing, marched slowly along the main street. His cool bravery gave some of his faithful nobles time to join, and forming a considerable force, though small compared with the insurgents, attacked them, put them to flight, and destroyed their leaders. Later the newly appointed Maratha governors used to aim five arrows at one of its beams, and augur good or ill to their administration in accordance with their success in striking it.
Lal Darwaja is one of the most popular and busiest shopping market in Ahmedabad. You can buy sarees, gents garments, children garments, shoes, chaniya choli, wallets, old books, belts and a lot more. Lal Darwaja is favorite market of a lot of people staying in Ahmedabad City. You can do a lot bargaining with the vendors and shopkeepers at Lal Darwaja Market. Lal Darwaja is quite popular for street food in Ahmedabad. If you love to have street food like Pani Puri, Samosa, Dhokla, Pan, Dosa etc, then you must visit this market. It is advised that at Lal Darwaja you must first satisfy yourself with the quality of the product you are buying and then buy it. Try not to carry or wear valuable and expensive things while visiting this market. Also, you must be beware of pickpockets as it is a very crowded market.
