Bhutan Cultural Tour 2019 (Lead by One Bhutan International)4K
Tour arrangement by [One Bhutan International]
Bhutan is a tiny Buddhist country nestled between Nepal, India, and China. In an effort to preserve its unique culture and religious traditions, it has adopted a “high value-low volume” philosophy toward tourism. But since tourism is a crucial source of income, Bhutan is expanding its tourist infrastructure as quickly as it can. I've rounded up my best cultural experiences in Bhutan.
Bhutan is well known for its philosophy of “Gross National Happiness.” The goal of which is to preserve the peace and happiness along with the security and sovereignty of the nation.

Driving from Dochula pass, into Thimphu, capital of Bhutan
Road trip in Bhutan, into Thimphu : the capital of Bhutan. Driving in from the outskirts, having descended from Dochula pass, one can see Thimphu town on the true right bank of the Thimphu Chhu river, as one descends on the true left bank, passing through the new part of town. we wonder why such a long stretch of the road has been fenced in - is it to prevent garbage being thrown into the river? As one crosses the Thimphu Chhu, one gets into the center of town on the true right bank.
Drive through the heart of Bhutan, through the town and finally land up outside Hotel Druk in the center square. Parked cars have their blinkers on, as it's getting to be dark.
The towns in Bhutan are nowhere near as crowded and messy as the towns we have in Delhi among the other shopping centers and 'bazaars'.
Drive around Thimphu city with us in this virtual drive-through video of Bhutan's capital city which is more of a town, really. Passing smaller Indian cars admixed with Toyota Land Cruisers and other Japanese SUV's, one gets an idea of the general traffic and car brand mix of Bhutan's capital city.
Drive through the main roads of the town of Thimphu and see the sparse traffic in the evening light. The sky is a deep azure blue colour in the dim evening light.
Some of the newer buildings are multi-storeyed and made of concrete cement designs unlike the exquisite traditional architecture of Bhutan.
With the day coming to an end the street lights in the towns slowly start coming on.
The drukhotels.com website claims:
Traditional architecture, elegant décor, and a seamless blend of age-old Bhutanese charm and contemporary facilities has made Hotel Druk one of the most sought after addresses in Thimphu since the early 1980s. Located in the heart of the city in close proximity of the business district, cultural centers, and historical landmarks, Hotel Druk recreates the magic of old-world charisma coupled with warm Bhutanese hospitality.
Over the years, Hotel Druk has played host to several important social, political, business and leisure gatherings. The little touches you'll find around every nook and cranny of the distinctive four-star hotel are sure to surprise and delight you throughout your stay.
Distinguished guest rooms and suites with their classic, understated décor, American clay earth plaster that brings warmth to any room, and personalized service create a tranquil haven for the business or leisure traveler in the heart of Bhutan's growing capital. The sense of space afforded by intelligent design with an eye to detail, from leather-bordered taffeta curtains to decadent, all-marble bathrooms -- among the largest in Thimphu with free standing bath tubs, separate walk-in rain showers, are ensured to make your stay at The Druk so much more pleasurable.

REIEK - Best Tourist Destination in Mizoram
Reiek, Mamit District, Mizoram
About 30 kms to the West of Aizawl sprawls a prominent mountain on which Reiek village is located. This is one destination that one should not miss visiting. The mountain itself, though appearing to be of gentle slopes on its eastern side, has spectacular rocky cliffs notched with caves and caverns with luxuriant natural forest preserved since the days of the Mizo chiefs. It is only an hours drive from Aizawl for which taxis and private vehicles are available. The mountain road takes one through the lush green hills, crosses the Tlawng river as it gushes through a narrow rocky gorge, and then climbs up the hills winding up gradually to make a comfortable drive, during which one comes across a few cascades which are a photographers delight.
Trekking in Bhutan
Trekking in the Bhutan is a unique experience. With its natural environment pristine and protected and 72 percent of the country under forest cover, Bhutan is a trekkers’ dream come true.
Within this tiny parcel of land, wedged between China to the north and India to the south, is an amazing richness and variety of plant, mammal and bird species, including the rare, vulnerable and endangered.
You will experience this in your treks in Bhutan, whether walking through pastoral settings, alpine forests or to the base of unclimbed mountain peaks and glaciers. Besides the amazing diversity of flora and fauna you will not only see the ancient fortresses and monasteries and unclimbed Himalayan peaks but also get the opportunity to explore and experience the unique and diverse cultures of nomadic communities who live simple lives in physically challenging conditions.
Bhutan’s terrain ranges from the sub-tropical foothills in the south, the central temperate zone where most of the population and the alpine zone that is cold for most of the year and stretches to heights of more than 7,300 meters (24,000 feet).
Bhutan trekking routes vary from hour long to half-day hikes through pastoral landscapes and forests to month long expeditions that go to the foot of virgin peaks and glacial territory.
At Bokar Tours travels, we have categorized our treks into easy, medium and hard but please be aware that preparation and being physically fit is a since all treks take place at high altitudes. Almost all the designated trekking routes go above 3000 metres so acclimatization is strongly recommended before embarking upon a trek.
The three-week Snowman trek that blazes through uninhibited raw nature as high as 7000 metres is for the seasoned trekker.
The Druk path (Thimphu-Paro or vice-versa) or the shorter two/three-day treks and cultural day-trip explorations are equally fascinating and charming. The shorter treks are also good for acclimatization and preparedness.
Eco tourism is an important element of Bhutan’s tourism vision. This means cleaning up and collecting waste generated on trekking trips to proper disposal sites and hiring local resources such as horses to transport food and materials.
The best seasons for trekking are in spring when the mountainside are a riot of colours and bursting with wild flowers and in September/October after the rainy season has given way to clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine.
With our all inclusive packages Bokar tours provides trained and well experienced guides, chefs and a seasoned ground team well versed with all the trekking routes and in handling emergencies.
Treks can be customised to suit preferences. We even organize luxury trekking, which offers beds in tents like in hotels and hot showers inside a tent. There will be an added cost for luxury trekking over and above the daily tariff.
Contact us for a detailed itinerary on any trek you decide to choose. All trekking information on Bhutan is available on this website
