Bhutan Post Office and collection of Stamps in 1990's.
Bhutan Post takes care of the postal system of Bhutan and was created on 1 October 1996.
Bhutan has been a member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) since 1969 and in 1983 they joined the Asian-Pacific Postal Union.
The first post office was opened in Phuentsholing on 10 October 1962 and it kept on increasing and The latest figure for 2010 is 43 post offices (including the two General Post Offices in Phuentsholing and Thimphu) and 33 Community Mail Offices, the new name for agency port office.
These days, with the help of the internet, we don't see nearly as many people using the postal services much. Instead we are more comfortable communicating via emails or using other internet service providers.
The internet was introduced n Bhutan after 1998 and then postal system in Bhutan changed drastically.
There are pretty collections of stamps in the country. The animated version of stamp is quite adorable and it is 4 Ngultrum: This is 4 Rupess. The Bhutanese and Indian currencies are at par.
It is Ngultrum 140 for the Druk stamp in golden colour and one of the best stamps in the collection is with the 4th king's picture on it.

Dochula Pass in Bhutan Amazing View
On the way to Punakha from Thimphu, We stopped at the amazing Dochula pass which is just 25 Kms from Thimphu.
At an altitude of 3100 metres the temperature is freezing cold.
On a clear sunny day the views are amazing and you would never want to leave this place.
Special thanks to Namgay our driver in Thimphu who was very nice and showed us amazing places in Thimphu and Punakha which most drivers would skip. He also charged reasonably without much bargaining whereas most of the other drivers that we met used to bargain a lot.
You can contact him to book his taxi for a day sight seeing in Thimphu or Punakha etc.
Namgay Thimphu:- +975 17577611
To visit Dochula and Punakha you have to get Route permit for Punakha from Immigration office in Thimphu.

Travel tips for bhutan by road. Indians can travel without any plan (passport or voter ID and hotel for 1 night)
Non indian passport holders need to preveiosly book their entire journey via an certified agent by giving $250 per day in bhutan.
Previously, all the tourist spots were free entry for Indians, but recently they have added entry fee of min Rs100 everywhere.
Bhutanese food is extremely spicy. Vegetarian food(inidan food) is easily available. Infact, they eat spice as a side dish. Must try out dishes: red rice and keva datshi !!

Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.
The Trance Walking Tradition of Tibet
Third International Conference on Vajrayāna Buddhism, 19-20 April 2019
The Third International Conference on Vajrayāna Buddhism was held from 19 to 20 April 2019, at Zhichenkhar, Thimphu, Bhutan.
The conference was organised by The Centre for Bhutan & GNH Studies and The Central Monastic Body.
Vajrayāna Buddhism is often referred to as the “Path of Skillful Methods” in reference to its diversity of means for realising enlightenment in a single lifetime. The theme for the Third Vajrayāna Conference was thus “Techniques in Vajrayāna Buddhism”.
The conference sought to identify the characteristics of Vajrayāna Buddhism that distinguish it from other modes of Buddhist practice. The conference explored the diverse ways in which the techniques of Vajrayāna Buddhism could be adapted and made relevant to a modern, transcultural, scientifically driven, and environmentally challenged world.

Bumthang Post Office in the 1990s, Bhutan
Bumthang Dzongkhag consists of four main valleys, Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor. Choekhor is the largest of the four and is widely considered as ‘Bumthang Valley’. The valleys are broad and gentle carved by the ancient glaciers.
Bumthang is famous for spiritual history and Bhutan's oldest temple is found in Bumthang called Jambey Lhakhang.
You would be able to see the old authentic house type of post office back in the 1990s. It actually seems like a normal house but has helped many people. Thanks to all postmasters for delivering letters.

Now Bhutan is not the absolute monarchy system. The constitutional monarchy countries. The total drop of blood sovereignty over the whole country nationals in the king without a shot. I think that people should maintain an independent state, thanks to the current dynasty, dynasty wangchuk. Pumge dynasty that young people from the countryside to admire the old woman and love beyond the king. (King 3 He), father of the country's modernization. Did you receive the most modern education. The memorial is hers for his mother and three Great. Jig-mail doreuji wangchuk. The top honor for the third king who died young in 1972 at the age of 44 stood right in this place, and was named to the National Monument. His name is engraved in the hearts of elderly people to remember him and keep this position are also entitled to receive per day. People are turning to manicha came to the memorial to pray for him to be remembered and lamented the tapdolyi. It rose to the throne in 1952, handing the land to the temple and nobles to peasants seized the monarch reform eliminated slavery. Never give up the monarchy and made public by the master of the country. Sikam Dynasty and Tibetan independence was consolidated affiliated with the United Nations in the midst disappear. His son inherited the father's move on reforms step by step practice. The fourth king. How I do sincerely respected the King any country in the world. It's a lovely day seureopgo admired. So minute that it respectable. Gunjujeong premise of Bhutan is a very different feeling. I was very impressed.
